The next morning, I awoke to an unsettling silence. Instead of the soft light of dawn and the familiar sounds of the fortress, I found myself enveloped in complete darkness. No light, no shapes, just an endless void. My heart raced as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. Was I dreaming?
"Hello?" My voice echoed, but it was swallowed by the darkness, leaving no trace.
As if in response to my confusion, a translucent screen appeared in front of me, casting a faint glow that barely penetrated the gloom. Words began to form on the screen, glowing eerily in the dark.
[You must wake up immediately. There is danger.]
My breath caught in my throat. The system. It was the system communicating with me. But why was I trapped here? I tried to move, to shake myself awake, but my body felt sluggish and unresponsive.
"What's going on?" I demanded, my voice shaky. "Where am I? Why can't I wake up?"
The screen flickered, and new words appeared.
