"She's the daughter of Rahl," God repeated, his tone slow and solemn.
"Then why do you sound sad?" Kur asked, noticing God's somber expression.
"Because I was wrong," God admitted. "I never thought I could be mistaken as a god."
Kur looked at Rahl, then at Cara, his voice bitter. "So I went through all this to save your daughter, and you still made me suffer?"
Rahl remained silent, tears streaming down his face. God carefully handed Cara over to Rahl. "She's your daughter, not mine. She became a monster, not an angel, making her your responsibility. I apologize; I was wrong."
King Kahlan, growing impatient with the emotional scene, shouted from above, "Are you done? Can you all leave my kingdom now?"
Rahl handed Cara to Kur and flew up to face Kahlan. "One last thing: hand over the Black Magic, or I'll take it by force."
Kahlan refused, "Till I die, you won't get it." But before he could attack, he was stabbed from behind and fell to the ground. The Black Magic escaped his body, and Rahl collected it. To his surprise, the attacker was Tamra.
"I'll serve you till the end," she said, bowing.
Rahl and Tamra descended together, a remarkable coincidence and a tale worth retelling. Rahl knew that repaying Kur meant granting him freedom and his daughter, but he decided to do more. He handed Kur the Black Magic and his own handsome body. Tamra became the third in command, with Kur as the King of Hartland and Cara as his Queen.
But suddenly, a faint voice pierced the scene. "Wake up! Don't you have school today?" The voice grew louder and clearer as Kur's mother approached his bed. "Kur, don't you have school today?" She had checked on him several times, and her curiosity was piqued.
"I'll get ready now," Kur replied, struggling to leave his bed. His mother left the room, allowing Kur to prepare for school. As he rose, he realized it was all just a dream. "It was all a dream... I don't want to wake up," he lamented.
However, as he jumped out of bed and gazed into the mirror, he was astonished to see the same mark on his forehead.
