Spells

Below are the spells that are from The Dragon Prince that I will be using throughout my story. I'm placing it here for not just my readers, but convenience for me to look back on when I need to.

THE DRAGON PRINCE SPELLS(Combat)

Sky Magic

Aspiro- Summons Wind breath powerful enough to blow away dragon breath

Aspiro Frigus- Summons ice enough to freeze large entities

Ferrum Venti- Summons sharp blade of wind that could cut ropes or monsters

Fulgur Mortifer- Summons a devastating lightning bolt. Translates to "Deadly Lightning"

Fulminus- Summons a bolt of electricity good enough to kill small to medium entities and can be used as a light source.

Lapis Caeli- This spell allows a mage to "vacuum" currents of wind into their mouth, drawing the wind away from a specific target.(Could possibly be paired with Aspiro)

Levare Ventum- This spell summons a current of wind strong enough to lift someone into the air. Could be used it to save someone from falling into the sea and lift them back onto a surface.

Manus. Pluma.Volantus- Summons Mage Wings

Ventum Angulus- A spell that directs winds at an angle. Could control the trajectory of an arrow

Ventus Validus- A spell that summons a large flush of strong wind. (Could be used in conjunction with Mage Wings for extra speed)

Stratum Caligo- A spell that covers a very wide area in a bank of fog, limiting an enemies visibility.

Nebula Invito- A spell that summons a cloud of dense, gray fog. It translates to "call fog".

Moon Magic

Curso Perpendiculum- A spell that allows an individual to run on a wall at a 90° degree angle for a short distance

Mystica Canis- A spell that disguises an individual as an illusion of choice.

Mystica Arbora- A spell that allows elves to conceal themselves, their allies, and other nearby objects, such as their camping gear, from unwanted onlookers by disguising them as trees and other natural objects.

Creatura Ficta- A spell that creates an illusionary creature that appears lifelike and has a mind on its own, based on a nearby physical object. It translates to "fictional creature".

Fit Invisibilia- A spell cast by Moon mages which causes them to fade from sight after using bright moonlight to shimmer.

Lumen Terebramus Acuto- A spell that is cast to enchant gems with the light of the moon during the night of the Harvest Moon, and the gems are used to embed an enchantment into the core of an arrow.

Manifestum Incorpus- A spell that turns an object incorporeal for a short time. It does not work on people.

Sun Magic

Finales Funkeln- A spell that conjures a blinding flash of light good for blinding enemies.

Fulmen Ignem- This spell allows a mage to cast bolts of fire

Ignis Iacto- A spell that conjures a swirling orb of flames used for offensive purposes

Flammae Circumeans- A spell that summons flashy motes of fire used for protection. Roughly translating to "ring of fire".

Ignis Volitans- A spell that conjures a flame orb that moves slowly and can be easily controlled for defensive purposes. It translates to "flying fire".

Lux Tormento- A spell that allows a mage to blast a large and powerful beam of fire

Missilem Ignem- A spell that allows a mage to throw fireballs at an opponent.

Pumex Irae- A spell that drains all anger from a target and turns it into a steaming lava rock that appears in the hand of the mage.

Vires Ardens- A spell that enhances an individual's strength

Earth Magic

Creatura Lenta- A spell that slows a creature's movement by grasping their feet with dirt, dust, or muck

Glarea Creo- A spell that causes stone surfaces to crumble

Globus Pulvis- A spell that conceals a target in a cloud of dust

Vestigium Tacitum- A spell that allows a user to hover someone barely over the ground, so their feet can move without a sound.

Vitrum Elicio- A spell that conjures a shard of wall of glass from sand or crystals.

Terram Agito- A spell that causes a patch of soil to churn like water, causing heavy objects to sink.

Ocean Magic

Aqua Protegens- A spell that encases a user in a pillar of protective water

Aquis. Spirare. Faucibus- A spell that allows a mage to breathe underwater. It uses three different runes as opposed to the usual single rune, and those runes must be used physically instead of being drawn in midair. They can be placed on an amulet or imprinted on the sides of the wearer's neck, which will then transform into invisible gills. (this spell can be used on other people as well as the caster)

Cauda Pistris- A spell that turns the lower half of the user's body into a shark tail

Corpus Liquidus- A spell that briefly turns the user's body permeability into one like water

Umida Palma Ferio- A spell that creates a flat surface of water that slaps a target

Ungulae Corallae- A spell that grows claws of coral on the user's fingertips that they can use for protection, as well as to dig through hard surfaces

Venus Frigoris- A spell that freezes the blood of a target individual, incapacitating them and causing them great pain

Bracchia Alga- A spell that sprouts tendrils of kelp from the hands of the user. Translates to "algae limbs". (Could be used like a whip)

Lutum Facio- A spell that allows traces of Ocean magic to insert themselves into dry land to create a pool of mud. (Could be used in conjunction with Earth Magic spells and as a way to create obstacles for enemies)

Pressio Profundorum- A spell that is cast to retrieve water from a source or out of the air to apply pressure to a fragile object to break, or to hold something in place. (Could possibly be used to grapple an enemy)

Undae Prosterno- A spell that conjures a one-foot-tall wave underneath a target's feet, trying to knock them over. (Useful against small to mid-sized enemies)

NON COMBAT SPELLS

Moon Magic

Vis Mendacis- A spell that temporarily gives an individual a huge advantage when telling a lie by putting on the "Liar's Face"

Vis Verus- A spell that temporarily forces an individual to give away their true emotions and intentions by forcing their "True Face".

Manifestum Corpus- A spell cast to manifest the bodies of Moon Mages after invisible.

Historia Viventem- This spell allows a mage to create a realistic, shimmering blue illusion that replays events that happened in the past, though only past events that happened in the area where the spell is cast. The illusion shows structures as they once were, objects that were once there, as well as the people who were there and the actions they carried out. The illusion also recreates sounds and repeats spoken words. The caster can choose the point in history they wish to see

Sky Magic

Angustiae Lautus- A spell that is cast to conjure a whirlwind that follows its mage's commands. (Can be used to clean areas)

Pluviam Praesidium- A spell that allows a user to create a dome-like barrier above their head that protects them from the rain like an umbrella

Sepultura Caelo- A spell that turns a dead body into a flock of live birds. It is unknown what becomes of the birds after they fly away.(Could be used for a funeral as it translates to "Sky Burial. Unknown if there are any combat applications)

Ventum Circulo- A spell that creates a "breeze-dome" several meters in diameter, capable of protecting the caster and other nearby people against high temperatures

Ventum Magneticus- A spell that uses a whirl of wind to grab an object and draw it back to the caster, serving as a magnet

Ventus Spiralis- A spell that allows the caster and those around them to breathe in areas with thin air. When cast, the recipient is briefly surrounded by spiraling gust of wind.

Fremitus Resonans- A spell that intensifies a user's howl or roar. It translates to "echoing roar".

Susurrus Distans- A spell that carries a user's whisper to a destination or person over a long distance. It translates to "a whisper away"

Omnia Pervideo- A spell that allows a user to locate exits, passages, and airways in their surrounding area. It translates to "I see everything".

Pax Partans- A meditative state bringing clarity of thought and rest. (Possible to use instead of sleep to have a certain amount of awareness)

Vocare Nimbum- A spell cast to create an artificial storm. (Could be used to increase the power of all Sky Magic Spells)

Sun Magic

Superficies Calidus- A spell that heats up a surface to extreme temperatures. (Could possibly be used to heat metal)

Calor Obscurans- A spell that causes a white light and heat to emit from the user.

Circulus Luminis- A spell that summons a bright ring of light to illuminate a person or darkened area.

Ligatus Ignis- A spell that allows a mage to conjure a spiral of fire that hovers on the head of their staff and acts like a torch.

Earth Magic

Crystallum Mordo- A spell that summons edible crystals.

Calculo Iacto- A spell that hurls a pebble at a desired target. (Useful as a noise distraction)

Silva Lamentans- A spell that allows nearby trees to breathe, creating terrifying moans.

Spinae Crystallae- A spell that grows crystal spines on the body of a user. (Combat uses still unclear)

Ocean Magic

Aqua Dulcis- A spell that summons a hand full of fresh water.

Umidae Audior- A spell that amplifies a sound and carries it through water. (Useful when traveling underwater)
