Chereads / Evil Isaiah / Chapter 4 - Game Plan

Chapter 4 - Game Plan

Colby and Isaiah now arrive in Colby's room. Colby shuts his door behind them as they walk in.

"Woah, this is your room?" Isaiah asks, surprised.

"Why are you surprised? You've been to my house plenty of times." Colby answers, needing clarification.

"Yeah, but never in your room." Isaiah then says.

"Really?" Colby asked, shocked.

"Yeah, think about it. How many times have I been to your house without going upstairs?" Isaiah answers, trying to prove a point.

"True." Colby says. Isaiah chuckles.

"Well, besides that, check out what I have planned for us to do tonight."

Colby then says, changing the subject. He gets an Ouija Board game out from under his bed and then hands the board to Isaiah.

"A board game?" Isaiah asks.

"It's more than a game." Colby says, trying to explain.

"It'll let us talk to dead people." He whispers.

"So basically people who are in heaven?" Isaiah asked.

"Exactly." Colby then answers.

Isaiah begins to scan the board game. He reads the warning labels on the back of the box, looking concerned.

"Are you sure we should be playing this?" Isaiah asks in an unprepared tone.

He looks up at Colby.

                                   "Positive. Why?" Colby then asks.

"Well, I'm almost thirteen and the box says-"

He scans then reads the box.

"Warning: For adults eight-teen plus." He says.

He points out what he's talking about to Colby. Colby is now looking at the warning label.

"Never mind that. Besides, thousands of kids like us are playing this game." Colby then says, bypassing the labels.

Isaiah looks down at the box again, wondering if this game is safe for them to play.

"I don't know." Isaiah says to himself in the same unprepared tone, skeptical still.

"Bro, relax. Just think of it as a super fun board game." Colby says, trying to lure Isaiah into playing the game.

After a few seconds of silence, Elle calls out for the boys. The sound of footsteps begins to be heard by them. They both gasp in nervousness.

"Quick, give me the game!" Colby says, while his heart drops to his stomach.

Isaiah quickly hands the game over to Colby. When the game reaches Colby's hands, he rushes to shove it back under his bed. In a hurry, Elle opens the door to Colby's room.

"Why's your door closed, Colby?" She asks.

"Mom, I'm thirteen, I need, uh, privacy sometimes." Colby answers, being stiff and nervous.

"Well, I won't bother you guys for too long, but listen, It's almost dinner time for you guys, I was thinking pizza?" She asks the boys.

"Yeah!" The boys say together.

All of their nervousness washes away as their excitement builds up.

"Alright, well figure out what kind you guys want so we can all go pick it up in a few." She informs.

"Will do. Bye Mom." Colby says, trying to rush his mom out of his room.

Moments later, Elle finally leaves Colby's room, shutting the door on the boys. Isaiah and Colby exhale in relief.

"Your mom doesn't know about the board game?" Isaiah asks, feeling a bit shocked.

"Dude, there's lots of things my mom doesn't know about. Now c'mon, it's pizza time! We'll play later." He says informing Isaiah again.

"Okay," Isaiah replies in an unprepared tone.

The boys then leave Colby's room, shutting the door behind them.
