'Hmm, every country is actively trying to close the Gates now. It will be difficult for me to raid Gates and kill monsters. Well, I can always just enter any Gates sneakily and clear them before the attack squads enter.'
Indra is contemplating while watching the news on his family's old TV as he eats breakfast. The Gates have become the main topic of every talk and headlines of all news. After all, it's an unknown thing that happens all over the world at the same time.
"I hope everything will be alright. It's so scary no matter how I think about it."
"Don't worry about it, honey. The government will take care of it. We just need to live normally as usual."
"But there are monsters behind those mysterious Gates, right? What if those monsters suddenly come out and attack people? Thinking about it makes me very worried."
"Heh, if those monsters come out, I will beat them up to protect you and our children. They don't call me the Lion of Bali for no reason."
"Aww, dear, you are amazing."
"Hehe, just leave it to me. I will smash those monsters to pieces."
Indra, Dewi, and Rama are eating their breakfast with stone faces because their parents are acting lovey-dovey in front of them. Dewi seems more disturbed and whispers something to Indra.
"Brother, doesn't Dad get that nickname because he always yells very loudly when teaching?"
"Yeah, it's a nickname given by the students in his school because he sometimes yells right in their ears. His yells are as loud as the Lion's roar and his beard is thick like a lion's mane, but he doesn't understand that. Well, just let him be. It's better if he thinks of that positively."
Their dad is an English teacher who often yells at his students who are breaking the rules. The students don't hate him, but his yells are so loud and annoying. He will even yell at the teachers too if needed, after all, so everyone is pleased that he is being fair.
Besides, he is actually a very kind and caring teacher. But everyone knows that he can be a completely different person when he's angry. His children know that better than anyone. That's why they never dared to make their dad angry.
But they all love him and he also never gets angry without reason. Also, he often acts aloof in front of them. He also always acts lovey-dovey with their mother even when they are there, which makes them very annoyed.
But such a family life is something that Indra loves and wants to protect. That's why he needs to keep raiding dungeons and kill monsters to get stronger. The only way to protect his loved ones is by getting stronger, stronger than anyone.
Also, he has thought about it, but the previous dungeon he cleared may be an easy one among E-Rank dungeons. Otherwise, it wouldn't be so easy for 1 person to clear it even if he has quite high stats and good skills.
'I can't be complacent and get overconfident just because I cleared a dungeon alone. That was just an E-Rank dungeon, the lowest rank of all dungeons filled with the weakest monsters. There are stronger monsters in higher-ranking dungeons. If I become overconfident, then I may get into dangerous situations that can get me killed.'
Indra thinks of his next steps while he's in school. He needs to get stronger, but he also needs to be careful about how he does it because it's not as simple as just entering Gates and killing monsters.
'I need to enter just E-Rank Gates for now until I can't get a good amount of XP from the monsters in E-Rank dungeons. Only then can I try challenging higher-level dungeons starting from D-Rank. I must take it step by step. Getting stronger is important, but staying alive is more important.'
The problem is, finding Gates that he can raid may be difficult. As soon as a Gate is found, the military will dispatch soldiers to guard it. While he can use Stealth to enter the Gates, things might get complicated when people start being suspicious because the Gates around here keep closing for unknown reasons.
Furthermore, he can't just raid dungeons at any time because he is still a student. So he has limited time to raid dungeons. It will be a problem if the dungeons he finds are big and need a long time to clear.
'Then, let's limit my hunting to just until 2 AM because I still need to sleep before school. I will go home whether I clear the dungeons or not. Even on weekends or holidays, I can only do it at night too because of my Muay Thai training. Hmm? Training?'
Indra just realizes that it will be difficult for him to continue training in his Muay Thai school. Now he has a lot more power than normal people. It won't really be a problem if he only learns techniques in his training, but he has learned all the techniques taught in his school, so he now focuses on practical training by sparring with other members.
'Damn, my power is too dangerous to be used against normal people even if they are strong martial artists. I could break their bones if I didn't control my power properly. What should I do?'
Not going to training is a bad option because he is one of the best in his Muay Thai school and often being sent to competitions. Furthermore, he is also a teacher there who teaches children. They hired him as a teacher for kids because his skills are good and he is young, so the kids will be more comfortable.
As a teacher, he doesn't need to pay for membership and even gets paid even though he uses the facilities to train. His salary isn't that much, but at least he can buy things for himself like those metal knuckles that get destroyed after just 1 use.
But whether it's lucky or unlucky, the Muay Thai school is closed today because a Gate appeared near it. Until it opens again, he needs to find a way to hide his power or he might accidentally kill someone.
'Dammit! This system only hides my magic power from being detected by others. If only it can also hide all my power.'
But there's no way it would be that convenient. So the only way is by fully controlling his power and acting as if he is doing his best while he only uses some of his real power. To do that, he needs to know how much power he needs to exert to match his normal self.
So he halts dungeon raiding for a while to train his control. If he doesn't do it now, he will surely get exposed even while doing daily activities because his power is not something normal humans have. At least not someone his size.
Indra dedicates the next days' training to control his power at night. The next week, his Muay Thai school finally opened after the hunters somehow cleared it after 6 days and now he already has good control over his power. He can control it well and only shows the power he normally has.
Now the only problem is acting as if he is doing his best while training techniques and sparring. Controlling his expression to look natural is not easy and it is even harder to produce sweat while he doesn't do his best.
Also, he might get too excited while sparring, so he tries to avoid it as much as he can and only focuses on polishing his techniques. He lies by telling the other members that his parents want him to stop sparring for a while because of the current situation.
Monsters may suddenly come out of dungeons and they want him to be in his best condition during emergencies. It's a lie, but the other members actually buy it. They even think it makes sense that even the Master decides to stop all sparring sessions until the current strange situation is under control.
Indra is surprised it actually escalates to this level but it's definitely a good thing for him. Now it becomes easier to hide his power and he doesn't need to worry about injuring or even killing people by accident. He can finally continue his plan to level up.
