Chapter 31 - The unconscious Miss Tienyue

After leaving Eilis, Jonas proceeded directly to his office.

The impact of the second attack by the Fated Organization was almost negligible now, as Jonas sat in his chair, receiving news from Stelt Hospital through the virtual interface.

Miss Tienyue's youngest daughter had been successfully transported to the Ennis District.

The document he had prepared in advance had also been sent to the Ennis District along with Miss Tienyue's daughter.

The Smidton II Interferometer was capable of forcibly sending files to surrounding accounts.

Though it was the most common advertising device on the streets, Jonas now employed it as a tool for ruthlessness.

Things were progressing as he had originally anticipated. It wouldn't be long before the Fated Organization received the gift he had sent them.

Or rather, it was a farewell gift for Miss Tienyue.

........

Ennis District.

This place was known as one of the most chaotic areas in terms of security.

Though not a slum, it was still rife with activities like human trafficking and gang warfare.

The sole reason for this... was that this was where the Fated Organization had its roots.

Ironically, although it was a riot organization resisting oppression, it had deep connections with several consortiums.

Perhaps each consortium wanted the Fated Organization to restrain the others, inadvertently providing it with opportunities for growth.

The Erkais Bar.

A man known as Ongs was drinking heavily at the bar, while the television behind the bar was broadcasting news about the Weiting Consortium.

Hearing the figure mentioned in the TV news, Ongs couldn't help but feel irritated.

He casually threw the glass aside, shattering it on the ground, spilling the unfinished drink.

As a member of the Fated Organization, he was well aware of what had happened in the Alt District recently.

In a sense, the missions to attack the Alt Branch Building by the Fourth Expeditionary Team and to rescue Miss Tienyue were all approved by him before execution.

All these missions had failed without exception, and he had paid a painful price for them.

This had also made him unusually irritable in recent days.

Miss Tienyue was a talent, and every time the Fated Organization faced a crisis, it was she who designed the breakthrough. He didn't want to lose such talent, so he sent the Fourth Expeditionary Team to rescue her.

However, what he didn't expect was that the mission he thought was foolproof would end up in failure.

The Weiting Consortium was not distracted by hackers at all, and the original attack had become a complete joke.

Thirty-six people, all killed.

A rare sense of defeat arose in Ongs's heart.

"Boss—"

A call brought Ongs back from his thoughts.

He looked up to see a subordinate rushing to him, furrowing his brows, and said, "What's the rush? What's going on?"

"No trouble, boss, no trouble."

The man gasped for breath and quickly said, "Miss Tienyue just came back."

"Back?" Ongs couldn't believe it, asking, "Where is she now?"

"She's undergoing examination at the medical department. When we saw her on Wall Street, Miss Tienyue was still unconscious."

As he spoke, the man hesitated and said, "Boss, do you want to go see her?"

"Let's wait until she wakes up." Ongs paused, then continued, "Help me summon the other core members of the Fated Organization."

........

Erkais Bar.

Ongs sat at the head, looking at the men around him, and said, "What's your view on the attitude toward the Weiting Consortium?"

"A ceasefire...? No, that's unlikely." A man beside him spoke, but quickly dismissed his own thoughts and said, "Everyone else is dead, only Miss Tienyue was let go. It's obvious they're demonstrating to us."

"Is it possible that she escaped on her own?" An elderly man on the other side frowned and asked.

"Although Miss Tienyue's hacking skills are good, it's difficult to escape in this situation, isn't it?" The man beside him refuted the old man's idea.

"Are you sure Miss Tienyue didn't betray the organization?" The atmosphere in the bar began to get noisy.

Everyone was sticking to their own opinions. Ongs couldn't help but bang the table and say, "Stop arguing!"

It was clear that Ongs's authority still carried weight. With his words, the hall quieted down.

"I know you all feel something's not right, I feel it too..." His gaze swept over the people present as he spoke, "But I'd rather believe that Miss Tienyue didn't betray the organization."

With Ongs's words, the remaining people quickly expressed their views.

Ongs felt relieved, saying, "I know you all have many doubts, but especially in times like these, we should trust our comrades."

"When Miss Tienyue wakes up, we'll know what happened in the Alt District." With that, Ongs didn't know that a bigger conspiracy was brewing.

........

Ennis District.

On this night, countless members of the Fated Organization received a document.

The document was in video format, lasting only about a dozen seconds.

When the video was opened, there was a brief pause, followed by smooth footage.

A white-haired girl held a gun in her hand and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Immediately, the man's head was pierced by the bullet.

Another second's pause, and the man fell to the ground, his expression still somewhat bewildered even in death.

Coincidentally, many people within the Fated Organization recognized this face.

It was one of the members of the Fated Organization.

And as the protagonist of the event, Miss Tienyue.

At this time, she was still unconscious.
