Zira Binusin is the current acting head of the count family because the head of the family has gone to attend a secret meeting between the kingdom and the other nations where the leaders made decisions about what action to take in order to get rid of the monsters and bring order to the human domain.
This year the leaders had decided to bring their vassal lords to the meeting for some unknown reason. Zira looks at the young man seated on the ground with a peaceful meditation expression and decided to wake him up she has wasted enough time already.
"You may come in now." She said and Kai stood up entering her office.
"I hear you caused quite the commotion in the county town. Do you have anything to say for yourself?" She has deep purple eyes contrast to the golden eyes of the Binusin family and long purple hair looking very serious but nonetheless a beautiful woman.
Ka even wants to clone her and make one of his golems look like her. Having a pretty face is one thing but the power of the count family in her hands is another thing that makes her very appealing conquest for any man. Unfortunately Kai just doesn't like going for people who don't go for him. He is lazy like that.
"My apologies." Kai had done a meddlesome thing that day so if a simple apology will exonerate him he will gladly offer it.
"Mr Kai, I hear you have built a wall in the waste lands. Why if I may ask?" She spoke well, very polite.
"That is not why you called me here. Let's address that issue first if you don't mind." Kai shot down this question. He can't say that it is because he is afraid of monsters entering his home while he is bathing or watching tv. That sounds like crazy talk. It is also because of where he came from, high walls offer security for him, subconsciously.
"I heard what happened in the county town, can you explain to me what happened in your own words?" She looked at Kai with a pensive expression but Kai didn't answer her.
"Are you hard of hearing?" She frowned wondering if this person is ignoring him.
"It's not that but the fact that your request is stupid and I didn't want to say it and sound rude." Kai shrugs after seeing the lady's expression.
"Alright. For what you did in the lands under the county you will be fined 300 gold coins. Or three years in prison." Her words firm like a heavenly judge. Hearing that, Kai smiled.
"How is Mr. Deon? I heard that his health is not what it used to be." Kai asked leaning back on his chair.
Zira watched Kai but still couldn't figure out what is the problem but her instincts told her there is more to his question than simple curiosity.
Seeing her conflicted expression, Kai decided to pay the 300 gold coins. Knowing that from now on she will be weary of him whether he poisoned Deon or not. Lately, Deon has been deteriorating rapidly. It all started with him unable to wake up one morning having passed out from an unknown drug.
She wonders if this man is the reason. She is still contemplating when Kai took out three small sacks of coins and placed them on the table. She is surprised someone from her county is rich enough to have a storage space bag.
"Now that this issue has passed, can we discuss the issue of my special business permit?" Kai said while the woman opened the small bags finding them filled with gold coins. This is a surprise but most importantly it means they have underestimated this Kai character.
"Daren told me of all your requests but I would like it in writing that we will not pay you and the orphanage any allowance but will let you conduct business in the country tax free for 3 years."
"15 years." Kai said.
"2 years." Zira countered. Seeing her haggling Kai smirked and spoke suddenly about another topic.
"I will accompany my friend Victor, he has been summoned by the grand duchess in the capital. I may find my recordings of the previous state of the orphanage distributed on the streets of the capital. We know how ambitious the capital falks are, they have the ability to use this in whatever agenda they are pushing in the imperial court." Kai smiled as Zira's expression darkens.
"5 years." She gritted her teeth.
"10 years and not a day less." Kai countered.
"Fine, 10 years of tax free for your personal business operations in the county." She relented.
"Thank you. Please allow me to see the place where I will be operating." Kai smiled.
"I will have the family butler show you the location. But may I ask you a question?" She asked.
"Yes, you may ask." Kai said.
"What will you be selling in this store of yours?"
"It is a surprise. Come and check it out if you're interested. I promise It will be worth it." He said leaving.
Kai had found a replacement for the previous world currency of zombie core to monster core. This will allow the system to use the energy in the core to be converted into smart coins like in the other world.
"You can't make an exception?" The woman asked with surprise.
"I probably could but you just extorted me of 300 gold coins for something that is not my fault. So no exception." Kai said with a light sneer.
"I see. The butler will show you to your store." She dismissed him.
Kai found out that this world has a stone called magic stone but it is not like the magic stone that needs processing before it can be used. It will allow the magic I tems to be branded with functional magic runes turning them into magic items. The problem is that the stone is too obvious to Identify.
If one wanted to make a blue gem necklace they still needed to put the white shiny magic stones somewhere in the necklace as well. This will make people recognize the magic properties of the necklace at a single glance.
The runes are not imbued in the stone but on the necklace instead which is another different from the other magic stones that are in abundance in this world but not many people have the technique to process them.
The white stone is brimming with world energies and Kai can use it as a perfect substitute for the zombie core. The problem is that the mines for it are very scarce Kai prefers to have his own especially since he replaced all the previous trucks and cars from normal ground vehicles to the hovering vehicles and only left a few for convenience. He will need these magic stones for recharging his equipment if he ever runs out of zombie cores.
There is only a few remaining ground vehicles for sentimental purposes. These also need electricity, the Pyne batteries or the energy cores for energy. Because of this information Kai will be able to sell the smart bracelets and allow his customers to charge them using the power bank which is rechargeable using the solar energy.
He made these adjustments to the bracelets a while back, now his space warehouse has a lot of stock. He separated the teleportation function to different forms where it can only teleport the inanimate objects of a certain weight, teleport an entire living being and lastly a group of living beings. He separated the price accordingly as well.
The butler took him to a place that seem to have been neglected for decades. The location is further into the county going toward the rich people residents but still a long distance away.
The place is old and falling apart. Kai is not discouraged by this. Looking at the Butler "May I buy this place?" Kai asked seeing the open terrain of the location and realizing the soil quality is much more than the vast waste land.
"You may consult the housing manager and inquire about it." The butler said. This man is not old at all but he is already a butler to a prestigious household.
"I will do that. Thank you for your advice." Kai said but this gratitude startled the man because he had seen Kai in that meeting with the lady and Kai didn't show any weakness.
"I may be able to gather some workers for you as long as you can pay them." The butler offered but Kai refused his generous help.
"I appreciate the gesture but I already have a few people who worked on the waste lands before. I will go to the housing office now. Thank you for your guidance." The butler and Kai separated like this.
The building is still the same when Kai entered he found the woman from before and was led to the previous office.
"Mr Daren. How have you've been since we last seen each other?" Kai asked politely.
"I heard you caused a commotion in the town. Care to share the details?" Compared to their first meeting, this time there is an extra layer of caution in Daren's eyes.
"It is nothing much to talk about. I have come here to ask if you have heard about the massive influx of orphans I am now responsible for." Kai sat down looking at the unease in the other man's expression.
"Yes. You have contributed immensely in the wellbeing of our community. I assume you have come here for some sort of reward?" It seems the last meeting taught him something.
"I want to buy some land inside the town. Specifically the rundown place that I was given to work from. I want it to belong to me." Kai said.
The man heard his request and stood up. "I will be right back." After saying that he went outside leaving Kai curious if he will ask the lady with a stern expression.
He has guessed right and the lady allowed the land purchasing making Kai very happy because that place is very spacious and even has a small pond that he is planning to turn into a beautiful lake.
Kai went back and using his chip to scan the area found out there is an underground area in this rundown mansion. It seems to just go down endlessly seemingly very creepy.
He used his incinerator spark to turn everything into ashes above ground and took out the construction team and materials to start work. He is aware that this construction will follow a plan while taking the least amount of time.
This is because his golems are now magical which means they can use the energy in the air using their magic stone as a conduit to perform magic spells. The down side is that they need to be replaced after they runnout of magic even though this will take along time.
They are machines which makes them less prone to mistakes making Kai trust them to transform this place into a small shopping paradise.
Kai went to the underground place which is so low, the scan of his chip is having a hard time reaching the bottom. This hole doesn't look man made but Kai could feel a pulse as he nears the bottom.
When he reached there he found a massive opening like a mine with multi colored beautiful gems as large as a house. On the ground near there are many other gems with the same different colors making this place very bright.
What confused Kai is the mental power eminating from this gem as if it were alive. Not knowing what this knew ore is, Kai decided to take a small piece on the ground and move out to investigate.
The construction is in full swing above ground and with Kai supervising it took only several weeks for the entire place to be transformed into a small paradise on the outside.
The building structure is round with large glasses on the upper floors. Inside there are escalators going down and up the floors. There are game places for leisure and entertainment in the open space like in the morden malls.
Kai inside his space has a construction supplies factory, animals that can be slaughtered and used for meat, cheese and clothing, there is rice, wheat and soap that he can produce endlessly and sell in this small shopping center.
There is a weapons and and smart bracelets factory. All the meat from mutated beasts, and the mines. He will use his clothing factory the most so that he can fill his shopping center here. When he can make some cash, maybe he will be able to get some political power to protect himself and his orphanage from the vultures.
Kai got to put furniture in the shops with a clear goal. He wants to give his orphans a way to make a living but it doesn't have to be here in a small town on the edge of the nation boarders.
The fourth floor has a bar and a hotel in the inner section. The walls are imbued with isolation magic to ensure the noise doesn't come out to disturb the other shoppers.
Kai has started making wine as well using the fruits inside his space as well as the strong brandy and the like. This place may be small but It wil be impactful. He is not in a hurry to start opening it to the public.
For now he went into his space to research about the crystal ore he found underneath the shopping center. The library has something similar drawn and explained. According to the records, it is a mental ore which will evolve and grant mental power for spirit bodies and humans allowing them the power to command magic energies in the atmosphere.
This ore grants dead objects an ability to have mental wave. Kai suddenly realizes that with this ore, he will grant his golems a unique personality and they can be truly reborn as his children. Most importantly, with this ore, he will not have to replace the magic stones inside each of his folems because they will be able to recharge their own magic reserves inside their magic stones with the power granted by the the ore.
Kai even found a method to harvesting the ore. He didn't waste time bringing it all into his space then he cut it carefully so they can be used efficiently. Not only can he grant humans the ability to use magic, he can also use it to empower his private army of golems which in his mind takes priority that helping the humans he can not teust.
