"The agent from the merchant guild looked displeased by my offer." it must have been hard for him to make contacts in the empire, she was on the verge of ruining one yet he had not showed any kind of doubt in front of the trader. She was already touched by the act.
She would not mind if he would doubt her and ask a couple of questions now that they were alone. But Alric just smiled at her and shook his head.
