Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 There is much to learn.

The first time he was there he didn't pay too much attention because he was still in shock.

Now a few hours later he was shocked once more, the sheer variety of the things he could buy was mind boggling.

There were more than 50 sections and every one of them had dozens of pages filled with goods just waiting to be sold.

Simon knew what he wanted to buy at the beginning but after browsing through the endless items on the list, he was starting to have a headache.

Another problem was the prices. He thought that more than 50000 credits was a lot of money and now he found out just how wrong he was.

-What should I buy? He asked Mikael who was waiting for him.

-That is your choice. I can advise you a bit but you have to decide what you need for now?

Answered the older man.

-And my advice is to buy what you really need and don't squander your assets.

You got extremely lucky on your first gathering but there is no way in hell you can always have such a good haul like today every time you go out.

-Ok so I need a bracelet computer like yours and it would be great if I could afford an anti-gravity sled like yours.

-Easy there young man.

Mikael interjected.

-First you need some water and food, your starter pack won't last for long and you really don't want to run out of water and food.

When Simon heard that he was momentarily stunned. How could he forget that he had just three protein bars and two liters of water? Well more like 2 bars and 1 liter of water now.

He got hungry and thirsty while searching for materials.

-Well then let's start with the food.

He switched the category to nutrition and started looking through everything.

-Why are some options crossed out on the list? Are they out of stock or something?

- OH those are not safe to eat by humans and some other species.

Chuckled Mikael.

-You remember when I said that there are others on this planet and that's why you have a translator?

-Yes i do remember.

-Well you and I are the only humans on this rock, the rest are different kinds of aliens.

And as far as i can tell this shop sells only the food you can safely eat, and the same goes for the drinks.

-I have to remember that for the future but right now let's get what I need.

- If you want to save some credits then it's good to go with the nutrient bars for now. I know they are tasteless but they have everything you need to survive and work and they don't

take a lot of room so you can always carry some with you.

-Than nutrition bars it is?

Simon found the item and bought 30 of them to have some in stock on his ship.

After that he filled out his canteens and bought a 20 liter water tank .

Buying the provisions alone cost him 3500 credits and that was just a beginning.

Next was a personal computer and that was 20000 credits,a knife which was always useful,5000 credits, another set of clothes and gloves 3000 credits.

He wanted to buy the anti-gravity sled but that was way out of his range for now the price was a staggering 1.5 million credits.

So he had to wait and gather the funds to get one instead he bought a solar charger and a flashlight after which he's funds decreased to 7 thousand credits.

Only then did he realize how lucky he was to have found these computer parts to sell.

-Are you finished? Asked Mikael with a bit of boredom in his voice.

-Yeah,i've got what i need and can afford right now,you were not kidding when you said it's expensive here and i should save all i can.

-I just don't want to see you make the same mistakes I did when I got here. It almost cost me my life back then .

- Thank you. If not for you I would have made many mistakes and it's only been a few hours since I woke up.

-Don't sweat it kid you're doing way better than me at the beginning.I was shocked for about a day and then my supplies ran out ,i barely made it back then by gathering every piece of junk i could find not knowing what is what but a learned and so will you.

Said Mikael while scanning his own chip and buying supplies.

-Than it seems there is a lot to learn about this planet and how it all works.

-Yes there is. I've been here long enough to get myself rejuvenation therapy and there still is so much I don't know that it's scary.

- Oh right, I forgot to check how much that therapy costs.

-Well let's just say that you don't have to worry about that for now. It took me a long time to get the necessary credits.

Came the answer from Mikael.

-Oh and I forgot to ask you what year it was on earth when you were taken?

-It was 2024 but i don't know how much time has passed since then.

-It's been that long already. I've been here for more than 57 years.

Mikael Sunk deep into his own thoughts, looking a little sad but it only lasted for a moment.

After pulling himself together he finished his shopping and they went back home to get some rest.
