Valencia was shocked for a few seconds when Alpha Maverick dared to act so close to her, even when Uncle Jonathan warned him about it, before a smirk appeared on her face.
She smiled at Maverick, making him lose his grip on her as he thought she wouldn't try to leave his side again.
However, as soon as he did that, he slipped right from under her grip again, leaving him helpless and glaring as he couldn't act on impulse and grab her hand when she stood beside Jonathan.
He wasn't afraid of the council head, but he didn't want to disrespect the elder for the second time in the night, to be so open.
After the cake-cutting ceremony, Dylan offered his father the first bite of the cake, who shook his head, not wanting to look childish before everyone.
Dylan shrugged his shoulders before looking around.
