I looked at the woman that I had chosen for myself to spend my life with, rejecting my thoughtful gift and running away as if rather than giving her the family heirloom, I was giving her some kind of poison to drink.
'I told you it wouldn't work,' Reaper said, and I scratched my head.
I thought he was just a wolf and wouldn't know much about human emotions, but who would've thought he would be the right one and I would end up making a fool out of myself?
I don't understand, though.
If I had given this dagger to any other she-wolf I knew, they would have jumped in delight. Why was Valencia's reaction so different? It was like she was afraid of getting tied to me.
Did she not feel anything for me?
