Chapter 145 - Chapter 145

In the Underworld, within an office of a particularly high ranking Devil, Serafall Leviathan, one of the four Satan in charge of foreign relationships of the Devil race, found that her coworker, Sirzech Lucifer has been acting weird.

For all his faults, Sirzech is very hardworking and diligent for a Devil, especially managing the Devil race and steering them away from path of destruction with how frivolous the Devils nobles acted. Especially with poaching people to fill their peerage.

The matter of poaching is a massive headache even for her. However, they can't exactly put a stop to it either because of their dwindling population, and the influx of talented and powerful Reincarnated Devils is important for their race's survival.

But back to the matter of Sirzech.

For the past few days, he had been absent from work. It's nothing strange normally since Sirzech have to deal with nobles and politicians on a daily basis. However, it became an issue when Sirzech was absent without any reason.

At first, Serafall simply concluded that Sirzech was dealing with his loss of Grayfia. Which seems to be the most likely case. With how delicate the case was, there's nothing they can do since it involves 'that' person and it wasn't like Grayfia was abducted. She left willingly. But, as she said earlier. The matter is delicate and there's many layers of reasoning and interpretation to it.

When viewed from Sirzech's perspective. What he did was correct as a Satan. To resolve the matter while minimizing the damage. But as a husband, he made the decision to abandon and sold Grayfia away to appease a powerful being he cannot afford to offend. Even if he initially resisted and hesitated, it did not change the fact he agreed when the future of the Devil race was put on a scale.

Yet, neither Serafall or anyone else could condone Sirzech for his choice.

After all, what he did was for the stability of their race.

Despite some irregularities, the Devil's race was a race that emphasizes value. They tend to focus on the value of an action.

For Sirzech's action. Many Devils praised him as a hero for averting a disaster. Only a minority like her and her colleague think otherwise.

And, without a doubt. Sirzech, too, thinks the same. Despite his decision. He regrets it. He resented being weak that he could only accommodate to the whim of the dreaded cat. He regrets that he couldn't protect Grayfia. Even more so, he regrets that he would choose the future of his race over his loved one.

But, what else can he do?

Beat up Ray?

Can he even do it when he effortlessly tamed Ophis which is hailed the true strongest being in the world second only to the Great Red.

If he wasn't a Satan, he might risk it. But precisely because he is one, he cannot afford to be reckless. After all, he carries the will and image of the Devil race. Recklessly provoking a greater foe will not just implicate him, but the whole Devil race.

Worried about Sirzech after missing his work three days in a row. Serafall set off to investigate the matter. After all, she isn't the only one worried.

The other Satans and the Lord and Lady Gremory also worried. Especially the latter when their son isn't responding to their call anymore.

As such, Serafall soon finds herself sneakily infiltrating Sirzech's residence.

Normally, such action will not go unnoticed since Sirzech is a much superior Devil in power compared to Serafall. Yet, she somehow went unnoticed. Which worried Serafall even more.

"What exactly is causing him to coop up in his house?" Serafall mutters as he gains information that Sirzech hadn't left his home for three days straight.

Prior to coming here, Serafall met a few of Sirzech's subordinates, asking them about Sirzech's whereabouts.

But, they all claimed that Sirzech hadn't left his home since the start of his mysterious absence.

Knowing Sirzech was fine made Serafall incredibly relieved. But, another question popped in her head.

What exactly is keeping him occupied that he can't bother to even give a reason for his absence?

If he needs a few days of rest due to his mental strain. No one would find it odd and even encourage him to take time and rest. However, he did not tell anyone and simply vanished just like that without any news.

This fueled her curiosity even more.

Serafall silently enters Sirzech's home and finds the disturbingly lack of servants that usually take care of his massive home which is a mansion as befitting for a Satan.

"Did he dismiss them or…" Serafall can't help but make hasty conjunctions.

She cannot imagine something bad happening without anyone noticing. Unless that cat is involved. But, from her observation. The cat didn't seem to be interested in them or the Devil race at all. Then, the possibility of Sirzech being assasinated is slim to none.

Stealthily and silently, Serafall explores the mansion like a protagonist of a horror story, entering an empty mansion to seek out something or someone.

With each corner she turned and each room she checked, her anticipation grew bigger.

She cannot find any sign of struggle which crosses off the possibility of Sirzech being silently eliminated along with his servants.

When Serafall reached the upper floor where his personal rooms were located. She heard faint noises that she can't make out of.

Following the noise, she approached Sirzech's personal study and then the noise became clear. It was the voices of the Grayfia?

"Was he reminiscing about past memories or something?" Serafall guessed and contemplated leaving Sirzech to his own devices to cope with his losses. Untill…

"Ah~! Fuck me harder! Master! Show that useless cuck how your majestic dick impregnates this worthless slutty maid's womb! Make my worthless pussy submit to your mighty dick! Ahnnmm~!"

Serafall froze. His whole body froze like a statue as her mind grind to a halt.

That was clearly Grayfia's voice… those passionate moans… also her words…

*Gasp!*

Serafall finally understood the situation!

She never could have expected such a thing could happen. From Grayfia no less who she had known since the Great War! She could never have imagined she would do something like this!

Not to mention, Serafall could hear a muffled grunt belonging to Sirzech!

"Nope. Not my business." Serafall remarked before silently making her way out.

It's not her place to interfere. Especially not when it involves that particular cat.

Meanwhile elsewhere,

"Achoo!" Ray rubs his paw over his nose while cursing at the one mentioning him.

"Uhm… Are you alright, Ray? Are you sick?" Yue looked over to Ray and hugged her chest with concern.

"Hmn? It's nothing to be concerned about. Just people talking about me." Ray shook his head at the obedient girl unlike Eva that kept yapping non stop.

"Are we there yet?"

"No. Shut up before I gag that noisy mouth of yours." Ray said with a popped vein on his forehead.

But of course, Eva being the mischievous girl she is, keep challenging his bottomline.

"Are we there ye—"

"That's it, prepare for a thorough correction, brat!"
