Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - I Might Have Gone Overboard With My Fun And Messed Up

Well, exactly as the title said. I might have gone overboard with picking Rias and made her chronically depressed.

"Fuck… I'm not a therapist. Not like my power can cheer her up without fucking over her mind." I facepalmed. "Think, me. Think." I mumble to myself.

After much thought, indeed I have to become a therapist. There is no other way to fix this shit without messing up her mind, messing with her memories or killing her and replacing her soul with another one I created.

With that thought in mind, I went to her myself and became her therapist.

———

With Rias.

Rias was locking herself inside her room. Sending away her best friend and even her own concerned peerage members. She was feeling devastated that due to her own selfishness and laziness, her once happy family had fractured and broke into pieces.

"If only I was training hard rather than betting my hope on a miraculous savior."

"If only I wasn't selfish to think only about myself…" She slurred with a few empty bottles of alcohol strewn around her bed and one in her hand still half finished.

Her appearance was disheveled after drinking for two days straight and kept being depressed as she drowned herself with alcohol to numb her aching mind and heart.

When she blinked her eyes, she swore she saw a black cat on her bed staring at her with a look of unsure and concern.

"Hahaha… even now my mind is still trying to torment me… what else do you want from me? You already picked me apart and bare. My happiness, my peace, my family and everything. What else do you want from me…?" She look at the image of her tormentor conjured by her mind before she took another swig.

"First. Do you mind some clothes? Even if my sexuality right now is fucked up. I still can get aroused when staring at a bare woman since my mind is partially human."

Hearing the unrealistic answer from the conjured up image of the unknown Primordial god in the form of a cat, Rias simply chuckled.

"Ah, what if I don't wanna? What are you going to do? Kill me?" Rias chuckled harder. Since this is just an image conjured up by her mind. It's fine to mess around right? At least this can help distract her from her pain.

Rias swore she saw the cat pinching his brow while groaning.

"I wish it would be that easy." The cat said before creating a cloth to cover my body and sat down in front of me like we were about to have a long chat.

"Want some, Kitty?" Rias offered her half finished alcohol but the cat refused with a long sigh.

"No. Let's talk about something important. I need you to stop being depressed and be happy again." The cat said.

"Nuh. I wish I could, Kitty. But after you ruined everything for me. How can I feel happy? I can't even stay sober because it's painful without these babies numbing my head." Rias lifts the half finished bottle up before hugging it close like her most important treasure.

"Fuck, I'm not a damn therapist to be do this shit." The cat grumbles and magically creates a cigarette and lights it up before taking a deep puff.

"So let me get this straight. If you stop feeling that pain you will stop being depressed and unhappy right?"

"Hmn. Hmn." Rias nodded and said. "But I don't think it's possible. The Gremory House reputation is in shambles and we already lost a lot of our close allies. I became branded the most disgraceful noble for failing to uphold my family honor while that womanizer Riser rose into prominence using my disgrace as a stepping stone. No way I can ever recover from that. Besides, Nii-san now became the target of scrutiny because of what Grayfia nee-san did. Grayfia now will be walking to her gallows to pay for her sin and make Millicas hate me for being the cause of her mother's death. There's a lot more to list down. But that's the important bit." Rias poured out everything in her mind which made her eyes turn red and tear up. She took another deep swig of alcohol to numb her mind before she could sigh in relief for the respite and lay on her pillow while staring up to the ceiling.

"So, do you think you can fix that, Kitty?" Rias asked and lifted her body up to look at the image conjured up by her mind.

"Who do you think I am? Of course I could. But doing that will reset everything that I had done. So, no." The cat replied curtly. "Besides, I am here to fix your depression. Not your problem."

"Comfort me instead then. Comfort my pain that you caused. Make me forget about it. Replace the pain inside me with joy so I will be happy again." Rias proposed in a jesting manner with a halfhearted laugh.

"No. As tempting as your invitation is, I am just a cat as you can see. As your boy toy to do it instead or something." The cat replied, which hurt her pride, she admitted. Her beauty had always been sought after by her peers and being rejected twice definitely sting.

"Hah! I wish. I am now just Rias of the Gremory. My worth only as the heiress of the Gremory House. If I lost even that, I will be a nobody without any worth." She said and took another swig which emptied the bottle as she let it go and crawled out of her bed to grab another.

"Then you leave me with no choice then." Rias heard before she felt herself losing consciousness."

The next morning she woke up feeling refreshed and a little different, like she had forgotten something.

"Rias. It has been two days. You cannot just stay cooped up inside your room. Everyone is worried about yo– Rias?" Akeno entered the room to check up on her King.

"Akeno? You came at a great time. I felt a little parched. Can you get me a cup of water? My body felt oddly sluggish." Rias asked while stretching her stiff body.

"S-Sure… I am glad you are back to usual, Rias." Akeno said with a glad tone as she walked out in a hurry to fetch a glass of water and smiled.

"Usual? Did something happen?" Rias frowned as she felt like it was related to something she forgot about but no matter how hard. She cannot seem to recall.
