The God of Storm, Fujin, is a fearsome warmongering god that sat at the pinnacle of strength amongst the Divines of Inazuma.
Up to the present, he alone had slayed six of the dozens of divines vying for the divine seat of Archon while most gods barely had one under their belt.
His strength is definitely undisputed, the strongest as his Authority of Storm enshrouded the entire archipelago of Inazuma with perpetual dark clouds and thunderstorms that would smite his enemies into ashes.
If there are divines that he didn't slay. There's only two or three possible reasons. Either the divine had submitted to him, he is too busy fighting another god or he favors the particular god or goddess.
For the case of Makoto, Ei and Freya, it's the latter.
Fujin is rather open with his desire to create a large harem to support his ambitious plan to create a dynasty when he claimed the divine seat of Archon.
Today was the day he would conquer Freya completely, he thought. By using a divine elixir in his possession to leverage her favor, he would work his way to win her over.
However, Celestia seems to have another plan for him.
The careful plan he had devised fell apart when a man appeared out of nowhere and Freya suddenly leaped into the man's embrace.
Seeing this, Fujin immediately shattered the cup of wine in his hand in anger and jumped off his seat.
"Who dared to steal the woman I, The God of Storm, Fujin, had laid his claim on!"
He demanded furiously as thick dark clouds instantly converged above him turning the previously clear day into dark like the late evening sky while streaks of thunder crackled furiously within the clouds, threatening to unleash his wrath on the one that dared to offend the great God of Storm.
———
Staring off into the distance when his reunion was interrupted. Ray furrowed his brow and turned back to Freya to ask the question.
"Who is that?"
But Freya didn't even seem to care as she was too busy and happy to see Ray finally awake, hugging him tightly while shedding tears of joy. However, his question was answered by another person.
"He is the God of Storm, Fujin. The strongest god within Inazuma."
Ray turned his head to the side and saw a pair of twins. One with a softer expression, wearing a much longer sleeved kimono that offered lesser mobility and holding a oil paper parasol, looking at him briefly before he gaze directed to the God of Storm beyond the fortress wall as her face turned into a worry. Meanwhile the other twin, holding a glaive and wearing a shorter kimono, stood very close to the other twin and glared at him with unhidden hostility.
Sensing the questioning look of Ray at them. The former chuckled softly as if unconcerned despite the present dire looking situation and said.
"Ah. Forgive my rudeness for not introducing ourselves. I am Makoto and she is Ei, my younger twin sister. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr Ray."
Ray looks puzzled by Makoto's reaction. Surely, she knew what he is and her younger twin, Ei, obviously knew and her reaction is the one that looks normal.
Ray already knew what happened after he passed out that day. Instead of following his order. Freya went against his order, which he hadn't yet punished her for, and went to the twins for help thinking he had sustained critical injury and succumbed to his death. Which he isn't.
Looking at the puzzled and silent Ray. Makoto could guess what his thoughts were. Not that it's hard to notice when it's written all over his face. Thus, she wanted to clarify something.
"I care not for your origin and your conflict with The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. I had grown weary of the endless conflict that plagued this land and the people and other living beings who had suffered by this senseless bloodshed instigated by Celestia."
Makoto said as her face grew solemn while gazing at the approaching God of Storm, Fujin, and his army.
"My only wish is to bring peace to this war torn land. To cease the senseless bloodshed and war caused by the power hungry gods vying for supremacy. However, I am also aware of my limitations."
"Without strength, my ideal is nothing but a wishful dream. A fleeting and transient wish."
"And your solution is to make a pact with me? An Outer God of all things?"
Ray questioned her while sending Freya a glare as it didn't take a genius to figure out how Makoto could know so much about him due to certain someone's boasting of him.
"You could grant me a wish, wouldn't you? Or perhaps I have grown too mature for your liking?" She questioned while looking troubled at herself since she heard that he would only grant wishes of young girls.
'Great, I can't ever escape my lolicon allegation it seems.' Ray palmed his face while his brain was spinning very fast trying to assess the present situation and rationalize an answer.
"First and foremost, you are bound to be disappointed." Ray started with a sigh. "I am right now in a situation where I could hardly help with my own predicament, much less help you."
"Secondly, I am no longer as strong as I was in the past."
He revealed this critical piece of information because he feels Makoto is trustable when she had revealed that she is at odds with Celestia.
"Lastly, can we deal with this guy first before we discuss anything further? It's getting annoying." Ray pointed his left thumb at the enraged God of Storm and his army that had already reached in front gate of the fortress.
"Naturally." Makoto did not disagree but taking a step back instead.
Freya immediately leapt into action and positioned herself to protect Ray from the incoming thunder strike.
*Boom!*
The thick blue thunder, like a lance shootout from the hand of the God of Storm struck the shield that Freya raised in time and dispersed the attack with a lingering arc of lightning dancing on the electrified shield.
Ray was actually afraid of the attack as he is weakened. So, he shrunk into his feline form and hang on Freya's hair when the attack handed on her shield.
"Oi! I thought WE are going to deal with this together." Ray climb up to Freya's shoulder and look at Makoto with a deadpanned face.
Makoto stood behind Ei who shielded her protectively. She is shielding her face partially with her long sleeve and look at Ray pitifully.
"My. I didn't think Mr Ray would be this cruel to push a defenceless maiden like me into the pack of lions."
'Defenceless my ass!' Ray would like to shout but he didn't have the opportunity to.
"Master!"
Freya's alert and suddenly movement force Ray to shift his attention back to the battle as one of the subordinate of the God of that was intended to be Freya's opponent, suddenly arrived and initiated battle with her.
A powerful Oni warrior wielding a massive mace carved out of stone swung his mace at Freya when Ray turned his head around. Even the stone underneath it's foot, cracked and almost caved from the sheer weight of the monstrous weapon.
Ray do not doubt Freya is strong. However, he have to admit that this Oni warrior outclassed her in term of strength.
Freya quickly dived to her left and narrowly dodged the swung with only minor graze on her armor before she rolled on the ground and quickly jump back to her foot and stabbed the Oni with her spearhead at his shoulder, intending to severe his tendons and disable his arm. However, the Oni reacted quick to use his mace as leverage to stabilize his body and kicked Freya away before she could succeed.
But, the Oni seems to had forgotten about Ray's existence when he turn into his feline form. Ray jumped off Freya's shoulder and swiftly climb up the Oni's arm that is as thick as a tree branch and reached to his shoulder before using his claws to tore into the Oni's neck and use his fangs to rip out his jugular.
Ray had never used his fangs and claws to fight since it would be messy. But his feline body is created by being much stronger than himself. His fang is sturdy enough to bite into the hardest material in the universe like soft tofu and his claws could rip it apart like wet tissue.
Naturally, killing this Oni Warrior is nothing difficult with those natural weapons in his disposal. However, as a result, He now looks like a drowned rat, or rather, a drowned cat because of the blood that sprayed out from the ripped out Oni's jugular.
"Don't worry, I will definitely help wash you up later, Master!" Freya consoles Ray while rewarding herself with the opportunity to handle his body.
Ray did not acknowledge Freya's offer as he shake off the blood drenching his furs before climbing up the wall and locked his eyes with the God of Storm below.
"Humph, I acknowledge you are strong enough to be able to defeat that useless thing. However, you are still no match against me!"
The God of Storm declared, not even care about his subordinate that he discarded like trash before several sphere of blue lightning appeared and float around him as the sky turn darker as if night had fell upon the land while deep and powerful rumbling of thunders that can be felt even from the ground as the earth vibrates.
"I give you a chance, youkai. Surrender and offer me those women and I will spare you. Otherwise, you will feel the wrath of this mighty God of Storm, Fujin!"
Ray did not correct the misunderstanding of him being a youkai. But he does feel annoyed that this little antagonist got over his head just because he was lucky to meet him when he was weakened.
This annoyed him very much. From being untouchable to being afraid of mere trash. All of this is caused by the Hunters. Then further aggravated by the battle with the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
For the first time in a very long while, Ray felt genuine anger fuelled by his grievance and exasperation.
"You are talking too much for a mere stepping stone for the plot development."
"You want my women? Come and take it over my dead body!"
Ray conjures orbs of Power of Destruction dancing around his tails that shoot out beams that disintegrate anything in its path atoms by atoms into nothingness.
The God of Storm at first ridicules his opponent for shooting out thin and small beams which look weak and harmless. However, he can't say the same after seeing those beams cut through everything like the sharpest blade in the world.
His painstakingly raised and trained elite soldiers that had accompanied him and won him many battles were diced up into piles of meat and gore along with their equipment.
After all, what is a conqueror without his army to conquer?
That's why Ray aimed at the soldiers. To make the God of Storm bleed, not his blood. But his most prized possession.
"Fight me fairly!"
The God of Storm demanded furiously after nearly half of his most elite soldiers he brought along were turned into fertilizer for the soil.
Hearing his demand, Ray gives no heed and continues his slaughter.
The enraged God of Storm unleashed rains of thunder from the dark clouds. However, Ray dodged all of them with his feline grace and agility.
Ray turns into an illusive shadow that darts around the battlefield. Always able to slip into the formation of the enemy soldiers, weaving around them to prevent the God of Storm from attacking him otherwise he would commit friendly fire while he unleashes his laser beams that turn them into piles of chopped meats.
When he was surrounded by the subordinate Gods under the God of Storm's command. Ray turns into a real shadow and slips into their shadows before emerging randomly from another shadow to continue his slaughter until none were left.
Five thousand soldiers, all turned into pieces of meat, scattered the battlefield.
Seeing all his elite soldiers had died. The God of Storm couldn't believe it.
"You! I will rip you into shreds! I will never let you die in peace!" The God of Storm howled in grief before launching himself at Ray now that he couldn't hide behind his soldiers that had all died.
Ray saw this and smirked.
"Kill me? I'm not planning to die anytime soon. So… Nah, I'd win."
The orbs of Power of Destruction suddenly inflate when a light purple magic crest with an image of a snake eating its tail shaped like an infinity symbol was applied on it.
The reddish black orbs grow from the size of marbles into the size of boulders before Ray hurled them towards the God of Storm and immediately fell to the ground from exhaustion.
But his eyes remain open and waiting for the death of the God of Storm.
When the God of Storm tried to escape to evade the three boulder sized disintegrating orbs. He finds his legs to be stuck.
When he looked down, he saw numerous stitched up arms with deathly pale skins like corpses holding on to his legs, preventing him from escape.
When the three orbs hit the God of Storm. They swallowed each other before expanding and exploded violently, swallowing everything caught in its blast and leaving behind a smooth and massive crater.
———
On the fortress wall.
"Master!" Freya jumped off the wall and immediately went to get the passed out Ray.
However, Makoto watches the aftermath with cold calculation and wisdom.
"Is this what he was capable of even when he claimed himself to be injured and weakened?"
"If he would regain some of his lost power. He would be strong enough to…"
"Sister?" Ei looked at Makoto when the latter suddenly went silent and stared up to the sky with a deep frown.
"No, it was nothing. So. Let's prepare to help our lord saviour that repelled and killed the mightiest god in Inazuma, the God of Storm, Fujin." Makoto said in a cheerful and playful tone after clapping her hand once.
Hearing what Makoto said, Ei didn't realize it immediately. It's after taking a few steps later did Ei understand what Makoto meant with her words.
"Sister! You can't be serious?" Ei quickly stopped Makoto to demand an answer.
Instead, Makoto cups her slightly pink face and looks shy.
"Did you hear what he said to Fujin? He said 'You want my women? Come and take it over my dead body!' What maiden could resist such a bold and heroic declaration?" Makoto said and imitated Ray's own words while making appropriate poses for his declaration.
Ei is tempted to raise a finger and point at herself with a deadpan face. But knowing how much of a tease Makoto is sometimes. Ei decided to just stay silent and made a small sigh. However, in her own mind, Ei understood her elder sister's action.
To make her ideal a reality and to defy the order by Celestia that caused this meaningless culling disguised as a contest for a divine seat. Makoto needs power. An absolute power to stand equal and defy the Heavenly Principles. Even if it meant making a pact with the horror from beyond the veil…

AN: Should I stay in the timeline of the Archon War period or get to the present where most of the characters actually exist? Like I'm pretty sure some of the Archons did not even exist yet.
Also, should Ray interfere and integrate more with the Teyvat's history or not? Since this would affect a lot of stuff later at the present.
