It was early in the morning. A dense mist was covering the wilderness of the Black Forest. The clear dew was still present on the leaves. The left wing of the army was preparing for the next advance. Regrouping and reorganizing of the forces were in full swing. Rai was barking orders to his subordinates here and there. This time, the members of the 2nd division will not fight together. Each of them will lead their squads along with members of the 3rd and 5th Z-Class. This was a new change. Late in the night, a messenger from the Main Army arrived with the orders from the Major regarding this massive change. No apparent reason was mentioned. Confusion spread throughout the ranks of the Left Wing. Rai, after consulting with Lunana and another strategist from the 5th division, sent a message to the main camp regarding the issue. He mentioned that this was a serious battle, and if we start reorganizing at this point when the morale of the whole army is low, it will result in catastrophic failure. At least a day will be required to sort things out. To his dismay, Rai's suggestion was dismissed, and the messenger returned with a warning from the Major. It was stated that if the commanders failed to comply with the order, the whole wing would have to face court martial. Rai was bewildered. The orders didn't make any sense. The whole right and left wings were sacrificing themselves so that the main army could move with ease, but with these orders, it was almost like the main army wanted to steal all the glory by sending the wings to their deaths. Lunana suggested Rai follow the order while she tried her best to come up with a way to steal the glory from the Main Army and give it to the Wings. Lunana and another strategist, along with Rai, spent the whole night calculating the best permutations and combinations to minimize casualties and maximize the effectiveness of the army.
On the other side, Lieutenant Major Den Ana was giving the final touches to the Main Army. Unlike the Wings, the Main Army will not undergo this rampant reorganization. Raisena stepped up on a large rock and patted the shoulder of his deputy. Den turned and greeted the Major. With a laugh, he said, "Boss, aren't you going a bit harsh on the wings? They will be scattered and smashed." Raisena smirked, "You still have a lot more to go. Even after staying years with me, you can't even make out what I am thinking." Den gave a sly smile and squealed, "Of course, I know what you are doing. How can I not?" he laughed as he continued, "You have to lose something to gain something. I feel sorry for them. They were really good 'comrades'. Ahh... I can't wait for my promotion. It was really smart that you sent a scouting team even before we stepped into the forest. They are so reliable, your private mercenaries. The advantages of the privilege He quickly gave a glance to the assembled army below the cliff. "Now we are ready to go," he whispered and then took a step forward. With a deep breath, he shouted, "Off you go, the brave warriors. Remember what your Lord said and do as he wishes. The victory and rewards are in front of you. SHIN (for) RAISENA, SHINA (for) AKOL!!!" The army repeated with a huge roar, "SHIN RAISENA, SHINA AKOL," and like a thousand thunders, the army gave a vocal signal and started marching.
Rai was still shouting when he heard the signal to march ahead. He immediately ordered his troops to assemble, and with his triumphant voice, he shouted, "Go on, go on. Against all odds, we have fought. Against all odds, we will fight! Remember what I told you? Now go and show them who we are. SHINA AKOL!!!" The affirmation reverberated with a huge thunder as the left wing started marching. They also heard the third signal, the right wing's signal. Day two has begun.
Al-Mar was leading about 100 troops. Along with her, Sochi and another Shinobi from the 5th Z-Class, Lieutenant Jae Jun, were also present. The whole Left Wing was moving in the 10 Spears formation, each with a hundred troops. Al-Mar was leading the outermost spear. Things were going pretty smoothly. They encountered small beasts, including goblins, meta-goblins, and meta-bats, in hordes of hundreds. For them, it was a piece of cake. But something was off—something very big was off—or was it only her who was feeling something was off? To her dismay, she was right. A loud crash was heard in the direction where Jae Jun and his small scouting party went. Al-Mar ordered around 40 soldiers to come with her, instructed Sochi to send the signal, and ordered her to continue marching forward. Al-Mar and her group followed the sound of where the crash came from. Soon they arrived at a large ditch. She could see a big, enormous creature, about 30 feet in height, with sharp grey scales all around its back and huge fangs coming out of its mouth, along with four ferocious claws. It was a Giant Grey Reptal, one of the most dangerous creatures residing in the Black Forests. Despite its enormous size, it can move fast, making it very dangerous, and its reflexes are on par with those of a snake. Al-Mar quickly scanned the area with her eyes. She could neither locate Jae Jun nor his men. Al-Mar quickly ordered her signalman to send rescue signals towards the ditch. It was responded to via grade 2 distress; in other words, they were all alive, and some suffered critical injuries. Though it may not look like it, Al-Mar is one of the most capable tacticians in the Z-Class, with a speciality in emergencies like this one. She ordered her troops into the formation and told them to attack the monster's belly, which is its weak point, with full force. Unfortunately for her, there was a demon seal on the monster, which made him resistant to normal magical and physical attacks. Special magical attacks were difficult to perform in this area as they consumed a lot of mana, and in this forest, which was laden with monsters, it was unfeasible to use them. The distress among the troops was increasing as the ammo was running out and the help was yet to arrive. Al-Mar took a deep breath. She looked around and shouted, "I am going into that trench. Nobody will follow me; that's an order. Give me a cover fire; I am going in! I will quickly rescue them out; don't forget, I am a military doctor and a healer." Even before anyone could object to her, Al-Mar jumped into the trench with her hands glowing red. The bewildered troops could do nothing but give her the covering fire. Then, as if it were a miracle, a light flashed in front of their eyes, and calmness returned. The monster was gone!!!
