The first thing his lethargic, yet still piercing, blue eyes noticed was a wooden ceiling directly above him.
Next, he noticed the sheets clinging to his body and the serenity brought by the sunlight filtering through the curtains veiling the windows of the room he was in.

He cleared his throat, and noticed it was extremely dry, prompting him to swallow his saliva which then induced an uncomfortable sensation, he felt as though he had swallowed sandpaper or a coarse pebble.
