"It is just a normal joke we tell ourselves," Liam responded dismissively to the old woman standing behind him, waving a hand in the air. His eyes betrayed a hint of annoyance at her unsolicited advice.
"You should never joke about such a thing!" The old woman wagged a bony finger at him, her eyes narrowing sternly. "Marriage is for men, and you should try and get married, do you hear me?" Her voice carried a tone of motherly chastisement.
Liam let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling his eyes. "Yes, ma'am, I will surely get married," he replied flatly, eager to be rid of her pestering presence as he watched her hobble away.
Alex shot Liam an amused look. "I told you, try and get married someday," he teased, a sly grin spreading across his face.
