Chapter 2 - Meeting the Princess of the Royal Family

The orange juice tasted great. He wanted to drink it in one gulp, but that would break his character. 'I never thought that acting like a human is actually this hard. I recall being human a long time ago, but I can only remember fragments of that memory.' The reason he chose to pretend as a human was because he thought that it would be fun. He wanted to relieve his boredom, but things didn't turn out as he had expected.

"Lord Bel, would you like me to refill your glass?" Alora's voice echoed behind him, snapping him out of daze.

"Yes, please." Belial raised his empty glass.

Alora tapped on the ring on her right middle finger. It was an item called World Ring. It was a ring that contained a small space that could be used as a storage device. There were similar items in the Devil Tower, but the space contained within those items was as big as a galaxy or even an entire universe!

Alora took a pitcher of orange juice from the World Ring and filled his glass with the juice.

"Thanks."

"Would you like some snacks to pair with your drink?" Alora asked.

Belial's ears perked up. The best thing about this world was their food. They had all sorts of delicacies that he hadn't tried before. Although the servings were small, he still enjoyed eating them. "What kind of snacks have you made today?"

Alora smiled when she saw his interested gaze. "I made your favorite sweet tofu pudding."

Hearing this, Belial's eyes lit up. "Quick! Bring me a barrel- I mean a bowl of it. Make it five bowls."

The sweet tofu pudding that Alora makes is his new favorite dish. It was made with fresh soy milk, brown sugar, and some other ingredients.

Alora covered her lips with her hand and giggled. "Do you like it that much, Lord Bel?"

Belial put on a serious face while nodding his head. "Nothing can beat your sweet tofu pudding."

In this world, he assumed the name Bel. It was only a shortened version of his real name. He chose it because it was easy to remember and also to hide his identity. Although this minor world was obscure and far from universal disputes, it was better to be careful.

Alora couldn't help but smile upon hearing that. "It's still in the kitchen. I'll go get them for you." She bowed to him and headed back to the restaurant.

Belial almost teleported to the kitchen, but he held himself back. "How do I get her to make more sweet tofu pudding for me?" He muttered with a thoughtful look.

Suddenly, an idea occurred to him. He stood up and rubbed his chin with his thumb and forefinger. "If this recipe is added to the restaurant's menu, they will have no choice but to prepare more of it!"

He clapped his hands excitedly when he thought of this.

Just as he was about to rush to the restaurant, he noticed an entourage on the street.

A team of twenty cavalrymen were escorting a horse carriage. A golden dragon crest was imprinted on the carriage, signifying its origin.

"What is a member of the Regalshade Royal Family doing here?" Belial curiously stared at the horse carriage. Based on the number of guards and their individual strength, he could tell that whoever was inside the carriage held a high position even in the royal family.

This kingdom was ruled by the Regalshade Royal Family. According to Alora, this kingdom was established more than three hundred years ago. It was known for its military might and ingenious military tactics.

Belial was currently in the capital city of the Regal Kingdom, Shadeborn. It housed over two million citizens which was almost a third of the kingdom's entire population.

"Vacate the road!" Yelled the leading cavalryman to the pedestrians.

Everyone immediately jumped out of the way. No one wanted to be on the bad side of the royal family.

Well, there was an exception.

"Hey! Move out of the way!" The leading cavalry officer shouted while glaring at the man who was lifting a recliner.

Belial lazily turned his head. When he saw the armored human shouting at him, he almost blasted him into smithereens with his magic. 'What a noisy brat…'

The cavalry officer became furious when the man just stood there foolishly. He raised his hand, signaling the entourage to stop. He then dismounted from his horse and walked towards the man.

'Oh? What is this guy about to do?' Belial was amused when he saw this.

The cavalry officer quickened his footsteps while looking angrily at Belial. Just as he was about to throw a punch, a voice echoed from inside the carriage.

"Why did we stop? What is going on?"

The cavalry officer pulled back his fist, not knowing that he had saved his life at that moment.

"Stay there. I'm not done with you!" He muttered to Belial before walking towards the carriage.

The cavalry officer saluted to the carriage. "I apologize, Your Highness! We have encountered a minor issue. Please give me a minute to deal with it."

"An issue?" The person inside the carriage asked before she opened the door.

"Your Highness!" Seeing her coming out of the carriage, the cavalry officer was surprised. He immediately knelt on one knee and lowered his head. The rest of the cavalrymen also dismounted and knelt down.

'Oh? So it's the favorite child of the current king, Princess Catherine Regalshade.' Belial stared at the princess with unblinking eyes.

Meanwhile, the pedestrians immediately knelt to express their respect.

"Your Highness!"

"Your Highness!"

Belial, the only person who remained standing in the crowd stood out like a sore thumb.

The first one to notice this was Princess Catherine herself. This made her a bit surprised since it was the first time she encountered someone who refused to kneel in her presence. However, she wasn't furious at him for the lack of respect. She was just curious to know who he was.
