Madam Lu handed the plate of dishes to Secretary Liu, who then served the food in front of Ma Shunhe. Commander Lu called out to Ma Shunhe, "Brother, eat up."
Ravenous with hunger, Ma Shunhe immediately grabbed chopsticks and a bowl, not even bothering to pick any dishes, and started shoveling white rice into his mouth. In the absence of any accompanying dishes, he cleaned out a bowl of white rice. Holding the empty bowl and noticing everyone looking at him, he felt a hint of embarrassment on his face, "I just found this rice to be quite fragrant."
Commander Lu had been pondering while watching him eat, and even seemed a bit entranced. Hearing Ma speak, he promptly ordered the rice cooker to be brought out, letting Ma eat his fill. He then told Ma, "Brother, if the rice or dishes aren't enough, just speak up. Also, don't just eat rice. There are dishes too."
