The slender, fair fingertips stretched out and pinched the bulge on the small cheek, "Stay out of adult matters."
The twisted little mouth stared at him, "Why can't I meddle?"
The man in front smiled like a fox, a sly look that persisted as he gently pulled his small hand from under the pressing arm and placed it back under the quilt.
The little face remained puffy, "Don't think you can bribe me!"
The man's fingertips simply and calmly flicked the child's forehead, "If you want to protect your mom, you need to get your health back first."
This man was a fox, a frightening one at that, capable of manipulating him and his mother at will. The little face was glaring, but he had to close his eyes and quickly regain his strength if he was to stand a chance against this fox.
