Chapter 40 - Donetsk

In a small house on the outskirts of New Darwin.

Reno, Nora, Stark, and Clarice sat together.

Not far from them was Russell Hill.

He was not bound; on the contrary, Reno personally poured him a glass of champagne.

He said, "Mr. Hill, I believe you already know why I've come to find you."

Russell Hill shrugged. "You want to find your soldiers taken away by the secret police?"

Reno nodded.

"Why come to me?" Hill asked.

"Because only you have the reason and the ability to help me find them," Reno did not conceal his purpose. "They've taken my people, and I intend to rescue them."

"Then you must tell me why they did it."

Reno nodded to Clarice, and only then did Clarice tell Hill everything that had happened.

"Superpowers? The Dawn Plan?" Russell Hill felt like he was listening to a fairy tale. "This is incredible, it's impossible!"

Reno did not argue, just waved his hand lightly, and then Russell Hill saw his glass floating.

"Oh, God!" Not surprisingly, Russell Hill shouted out the almighty.

Ten minutes later, after repeatedly verifying that this was not some kind of magic trick, Russell Hill finally began to face reality and believe everything they said.

"So you're doing all this just to save your comrades?" Russell Hill looked at Reno suspiciously.

"I know it's hard for you to believe because in your eyes, I'm someone who would kill his superior for promotion. But Mr. Hill, I don't expect you to believe me with words now. I only hope to prove it to you with actions. Give me a chance to rescue my brothers, and I'll show you what kind of person I am," Reno replied sincerely.

Russell Hill looked at Reno blankly.

On his face, he saw sincerity, kindness, and hope.

Russell Hill was speechless.

After a while, he said, "I don't know who you really are, Johnny Reno, but the evidence I have suggests that you are highly suspicious of killing your superior. But the you I've encountered isn't so despicable. I don't know which one is real, which one is fake, but I hope to get the truth about the Abrodi."

"Is this a condition for exchange?" Reno asked softly.

"Consider it one," Russell Hill nodded.

Reno stepped back a few steps.

He buried himself in the sofa, as if thinking about something, and finally nodded. "Okay, help me find the soldiers of the Abrodi, and I'll tell you everything that happened on the ship."

"Is this a promise?" Russell Hill asked.

"This is a promise!" Reno replied.

Russell Hill stood up. "Alright, but you have to promise me one more thing."

"What?"

"When you go to rescue people, I want to be there too. I mean, if you dare to deceive me, if you have another conspiracy, I will do my best to stop you."

"And if I'm not lying to you?"

Russell Hill didn't hesitate to say, "I'll help you."

Reno smiled, nodded, and said, "Good!"

That's how things were settled.

Russell Hill stood up and took out a map. "Nate Blade came a little too fast. He stopped me before I could find their location. Nevertheless, based on the clues I've obtained, it can still be determined that the location of the Abrodi prisoners should be around here."

Russell Hill pointed to a spot on the map.

"Donetsk?" Reno and Nora said together.

Donetsk was an area located in the northern hemisphere, with a radiation range of thirty thousand square kilometers, vast in size. Even if it was determined that the soldiers of the Abrodi were in Donetsk, the area was still too large.

Fortunately, Russell Hill had a way. "If what you said is true, and these soldiers were captured for experiments, considering that they were concentrated and sent to the Donetsk area instead of entering the airport through the shuttle, it can be basically judged that the experiments are being conducted on Earth. My people have obtained some information in the Donetsk area. Originally, these pieces of information seemed unrelated, but now, perhaps they are not."

"What information?"

"In Otga, there is a medical car sent to Donetsk every day. And in Levrange, the drug trade has recently become active. In addition, in Chakchen, someone has ordered a batch of magnetic radiation detectors." Russell Hill answered proudly.

His memory was amazing. Even the seemingly unrelated information he had seen could be memorized in a short time and played its proper role when needed.

Nora and Reno looked at each other.

Nora said, "Where do they lead to?"

Russell Hill's finger landed on a point. "Here."

Clarice blurted out, "Nuesk, where Earth's best genetic hospital is located."

"It must be here," Reno slammed his fist on the map.

Finally found out where they were, everyone was excited.

"Wait a minute," Stark suddenly said, "If I'm not mistaken, there should be a military camp near Nuesk."

"What military camp?"

"Oakway Infantry Camp."

Reno turned around, "Clarice, check the situation of this camp."

"Okay." Clarice had now taken on the role of the team's hacker.

She quickly connected to the network, intruding into the local system to search for information about the Oakway Infantry Camp.

As Stark said, the infantry camp was just north of Nuesk City.

"Oakway Infantry Regiment, established in the year 6892, currently has 1800 heavy infantry, stationed year-round on the northern outskirts of Nuesk City," Clarice said.

"Look at their recent movements," Reno ordered.

"I'm looking... They recently had an exercise, and a battalion was sent to the western outskirts of the city... Damn, that's where the Edward Genetic Hospital is. They sent a whole battalion to guard there!" Clarice exclaimed.

"Which battalion?" Reno continued to ask.

"The first direct reinforcement battalion, with a full five hundred people, equipped with twenty tanks, all equipped with T17 laser rifles, high-explosive grenades, and rocket boosters." Clarice said as she rapidly manipulated the screen, the panorama of the Edward Hospital appeared on the screen.

And around this panorama, there were sixteen black circular objects, although not clear, Reno guessed what they were.

"It's a manganese-titanium alloy fortress."

"They even built bunkers." Stark exclaimed in astonishment.

Around the Edward Hospital, sixteen bunkers surrounded it, no matter which angle of attack, the only thing that would come at you would be a barrage of laser rifles.

These bunkers were not actually used to deal with people outside but to block people inside.

Through the satellite image, you could faintly see that the entire Edward Hospital was sealed off with steel fences.

Some fences even had traces of blood.

Without thinking, you knew that there must have been more than one riot during this time.

"These bastards!" Reno spat out the words from between his teeth.

"We must get them out," Nora said.

"The problem is how to save them?" Clarice said with some distress, "There are five hundred armed soldiers guarding them, and twenty kilometers away from them, there are two infantry camps and a reinforced company. With just a few of us, there's no chance of

 breaking into the hospital."

"No, we have a chance," Reno replied.

"How?"

"Didn't you notice?" Reno said, "This is a light infantry force, severely lacking heavy weapons. Do you know what's best for dealing with light infantry?"

Stark's eyes lit up. "Mechs!"

"Exactly, with mechs!" Nora also became excited. "With just a few mechs, we can sweep away this so-called iron wall defense!"

Russell Hill asked in surprise, "But where do you get mechs from?"

That's a problem.

Although mechs are powerful, they are strictly regulated precisely because they are powerful, and even infantry camps do not have mechs, which shows how difficult it is to obtain them.

After thinking about it, Reno replied, "In fact, there is a place to get mechs..."

He turned around to look at Nora and Stark.

The three of them smiled at each other and said at the same time, "The Abrodi!"
