Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Lone Wolf

"Umm," Song Xinyuan gave a positive acknowledgment as she watch those gangster-looking guys approached her.

"Really?" Qu Shen had only asked without much hope but didn't expect to get an answer. He was stunned for a moment and stood up excitedly.

"Give me a few more months. Two months?" Song Xinyuan threw the cigarette butt, stepped on it, and spoke unhurriedly, "I have a lot on my plate now."

Qu Shen paced around the room, unable to hide his excitement. "Good! Even if you want to start at the end of the year, I won't have any objection." He finally laughed out loudly. "You finally willing to come back. Do you know how scared me and those people were when you stopped contacting us and taking any orders?"

As long as Song Xinyuan was fine and willing to come back, everyone from Shadow League was at ease.

"I will hang up if nothing."

"Ok." They hung up.

Song Xinyuan slowly walked toward the dark alley, she was a little absent-minded. She wasn't surprised by Qu Shen's surprise and eagerness. Shadow League was a very famous detective office known all over the nation and even beyond the border. Its efficiency was much higher than any inspection institute.

There were many members in the Shadow League. Even a normal member of their league would be able to provide more valuable information than an experienced worker from an inspection bureau. So, they were always valued highly by people, as it was too difficult to pass the assignment task of joining Shadow League.

Song Xinyuan was a senior member of Shadow League, Lone Wolf. Almost every single member of the League considered Lone Wolf as their idol. There had never been a time when Lone Wolf took an order and couldn't finish it.

Song Xinyuan approached Qu Shen six years ago and joined Shadow League. At that time, Shadow League had just started by Qu Shen. She designed the Shadow League's firewall and became a core member of it. But she never visited the main office of it all those years and always hid her information tightly.

So, among the five core members of Shadow League, only Lone Wolf's info was most unknown to the outside, including gender, age, and real name.

Song Xinyuan was short of money; that's why she joined the Shadow League.

Yan Yu was the largest and most expensive entertainment place in Haicheng. Only wealthy people could afford to be there. Almost all heirs of wealthy families gathered there for fun most of the time. So, Song Chuhan's son appearing wasn't a surprising thing.

Song Zishen was the youngest son of Song Chuhan, who always regarded Song Xinyuan as his deadly enemy under Meng Wei's influence.

---

In front of Yan Yu's enormous entrance and its big flower garden, a black expanded Bentley was parked by the roadside.

Zhao Yufeng wore an impatient look as he frequently glanced at his watch. It had been about twenty minutes, but there wasn't a single trace of the person they were waiting for.

How annoying!

He looked at the backseat through the rear mirror. "Brother Sheng, where is your cousin? Why is he still not coming yet?"

The man sat in the backseat of the car, his long legs folded. He was leaning on the seat, wearing a black shirt, one hand casually resting on his knee while the other hand covered his eyes. He did not respond to Zhao Yufeng's question, as if he were sleeping.

Speechless! He wound down the car window and peered outside with resentment.

The wind of mid-August always carried humidity, be it day or night.

The warm and humid air from outside poured in and destroyed the cool atmosphere of the car. Bai Yancheng from the backseat glared at Zhao Yufeng and ordered grumpily, "Shut the window."

Zhao Yufeng also glared back at him and turned to look outside without shutting the window.

"Oh? Isn't that the boy from the repair shop?"

Bai Yancheng: "What?"

The man in the backseat finally opened his eyes and sat straight. He had very fair skin, a tall nose, and thin lips. He squinted his deep eyes, paused, then followed the sight of Zhao Yufeng.

A group of youths dressed in a tacky way surrounded the girl. All of those boys were around 18 or 19 years old and each was almost 1.8 meters tall, while the girl was only 1.7 or something.

She looked petite and weak in front of those youths, but she appeared cold and impatient.

Huo Jingsheng pursed his thin lips into a straight line and opened the car door with a click before going out without any delay.
