Chapter 35: Madame Starving! Gathering Qi Bead!
At the Mittel Auction House, Ya Fei dragged her weary body back to her room.
Despite her exhaustion, her steps quickened at the thought of the person she was about to meet.
Opening the door, she saw the face of the young man, seemingly unchanged from yesterday but now bearing a hint of maturity and experience.
Had the young man's nearly one-month-long journey really yielded such results?
"Ya Fei, I rushed over to see you as soon as I returned," Xiao Ze said, rising from his seat with a smile.
Hearing this, Ya Fei rolled her eyes at Xiao Ze, her tone slightly reproachful. "Do you think I'm just an auctioneer?"
"The moment you came back, didn't you bring a little girl to the Xiao Family?" she continued. "And then you met up with your childhood sweetheart... it seems like it took you a while to remember me, didn't it?"
Xiao Ze felt a bit embarrassed by Ya Fei's words. His previous statement was merely a polite gesture, much like saying "nice to meet you."
"But, did Ya Fei eagerly await my return? Did you specially send someone to keep an eye on the Xiao Family?" Xiao Ze asked jokingly, trying to change the subject.
A trace of awkwardness flashed across Ya Fei's face as she sat down and tossed aside her fur scarf. "Ah... it's been a busy day, and I'm so tired! I wonder if anyone can give me a massage?"
Xiao Ze inwardly chuckled at Ya Fei's attempt to change the topic so abruptly.
Seeing that Ya Fei didn't want to dwell on it, Xiao Ze didn't continue pressing the issue.
"Ya Fei, would you like me to give you a massage?" Xiao Ze offered.
Relaxing her body and closing her eyes slightly, Ya Fei signaled for Xiao Ze to proceed.
Observing her, Xiao Ze didn't hesitate and promptly moved behind her.
With a glance, he noticed her graceful figure.
Most of the girls he was close to were around his age or slightly older, but none could compare to Ya Fei's elegance.
Taking a deep breath, Xiao Ze placed his hands on Ya Fei's shoulders.
He applied just the right amount of pressure, causing Ya Fei to let out contented sighs and relax into the massage.
After finishing, Xiao Ze returned to his seat.
Ya Fei's face was still flushed, her eyes half-closed as she lazily spoke. "I didn't expect Xiao Ze to have such skill. Is this the first time I've been massaged... do you believe me?"
"Ha... I believe you, of course, Sister Ya Fei!" Xiao Ze replied with a laugh.
After a moment of relaxation, Ya Fei sat up straighter, feeling much more invigorated. She couldn't help but wonder if Xiao Ze's massage had helped improve her circulation.
She suddenly realized how lucky she was to have this brother. In the future, Xiao Ze would surely soar to the top of the Gamma Empire!
After a while, Ya Fei regained her composure and began to count the magic cores on the table.
"Magic cores are always in demand and easy to sell. Do you want the gold coins now, or should I give them to you after selling them?" she asked Xiao Ze.
"Let's do it now. Just give me a rough estimate," Xiao Ze replied nonchalantly.
"I can't let my brother suffer any losses," Ya Fei said with a smile, getting up to retrieve a pale gold card from her bedroom.
"There are one hundred thousand gold coins on this card. Now that you're a Great Fighter, your cultivation must require more resources," Ya Fei said with a smile, handing the card to Xiao Ze with an unmistakable sense of assurance.
Xiao Ze accepted it gratefully. "Sister Ya Fei, I will definitely repay your kindness in the future!"
The table full of magic cores was worth no more than fifty thousand gold coins, yet Ya Fei had given him a card with twice that amount!
"Are you planning to leave again?" Ya Fei asked, sensing Xiao Ze's intention from his words.
"Yes, I plan to apply to Canaan Academy and explore a broader world," Xiao Ze replied.
"I see," Ya Fei said thoughtfully, a hint of imperceptible disappointment flickering in her eyes.
"Oh, Sister Ya Fei, I want to buy something from you as a gift for my family," Xiao Ze suddenly remembered.
"Sure, let me get you the inventory list," Ya Fei said, rummaging through her desk and handing the list to Xiao Ze.
As the two fell into silence, Xiao Ze pondered over what to get for his acquaintances. He had already picked out gifts for everyone except for his third brother, and he was feeling a bit hesitant.
Suddenly, Xiao Ze noticed an item called the "Gathering Qi Bead" under the list of unsold items.
"Sister Ya Fei, what is this Gathering Qi Bead?" he asked.
"Oh, that? It's said to have been obtained by mercenaries exploring ruins in the Warcraft Mountains," Ya Fei replied, recalling the origin of the bead.
"The owner wanted to auction it off to see if anyone recognized its value. But after three consecutive failures, he sold it to the auction house at a low price."
Listening to Ya Fei's explanation, Xiao Ze's eyes lit up.
This Gathering Qi Bead seemed perfect for Xiao Yan's current situation!
