Flashback
A month ago, zen had just been caught by the government, well not exactly caught as he never put up a fight. Realizing that they wouldn't be able to obtain any information from him they locked him up in an enclosed room away from sunlight, without giving him food or water for days. One of those days, celia snuck into his room due to curiosity and stared at him for a while with her big brown eyes but Zen simply ignored her, after a few minutes, unable the bear the silence celia introduced herself with a shaky voice
"H...hi" zen however didn't even bother looking at her. Celia gulped and with a bit more confidence introduced herself
"My name's celia, what's yours?" Her question however was met with silence but this didn't discourage her"that's okay, my father already told me, you're called zen, right?" Zen's eyes suddenly darted towards her as she finally managed to get a human-like reaction out of him, but not the good kind as he spoke in a voice dripping with ice
"Your father is Murphy?"
But this time it was her who didn't reply, she was frozen, fidgeting in place as her eyes locked with zen's left eye which wasn't covered. She stared deep into the abyss that was his eye and knew one thing. Although she had awakened while he hadn't and she might seem capable of overpowering him he was much more dangerous due to something she could clearly see, he had seen blood, lots of it. He had been exposed to something she simply couldn't comprehend , although such might not so strongly affect skilled veterans like Murphy, celia was still inexperienced.
At this moment a small glow of light nearly unnoticeable seeped out of her eyes for a brief second before disappearing. Zen seeing what he had reflexively done toned down the blood lust in his voice and repeated his question, this time she replied shakily
"Y-yes....he is"
Zen having gotten the answer he wanted went back to ignoring the presence of the girl in here. He actually hadn't meant to react the way he did, even if he was out of the ordinary he wouldn't just go around releasing bloodlust everywhere
"At least she'll most likely leave now" was what he had thought but perhaps out of stubborness she decided to stay and kept trying to get him to react but every single time she would be ignored. After a while she suddenly brought something out which she had held behind her and out of zen's field of vision. It was a basket
"Are you hungry?" She asked as she showed him the basket
"You've been here for days without food so of course you're hungry, here , this is... this is for you " celia had thought since it had been close to a week he had been locked in a here, he'd be starving by now and it would be her chance to accomplish the goal she came here for, however Zen didn't spare it a glance. Celia, after a few minutes began to feel akward as she kept trying to make some sort of connection with Zen but every time he would disregard her, he hadn't even spoken since his first question before. At this point celia was already sitting directly in front of him because no matter what she did he never gave her any human-like reaction,so much so that she had unconsciously started treating him as if he was harmless. After a while celia looked at the watch on her wrist and realized it was getting late, she had been here way too long but had no way of knowing as no light could get into the room. She quickly packed up the food she brought which had gone cold from neglect and promised Zen she'd be back tomorrow despite him clearly not wanting to talk to her. The same thing repeated itself over the course of the next few days until finally Zen had enough
"What exactly are you trying to achieve here,if you're worried then don't be, you must have already heard who i am and where I'm from, you're his daughter after all . Now leave me be,i don't need your help ,your idea of torture is child's play honestly. Celia stayed still for a few seconds, slightly surprised he had actually spoken to her. She immediately forgot what he had just said and stared to babble happily, once again introducing herself and even commenting on his current situation. Zen seeing this felt like he had wasted time speaking to an idiot . He had wanted to make this annoying girl realize he didn't need her help or want her anywhere near him but he was beginning to contemplate using overloading her mind with killing intent, but remembering something he thought maybe he could just greatly reduce the power to scare her like before and force her into leaving, deciding to do this, he suddenly raised his head to look her in the eye and his eyes became sharp and bestial looking something he could do even without having awakened . looking into her eyes he expected something similar to the first time he did this to happen but celia suddenly smiled mischievously
"That won't work"
She said playfully. Zen was confused,he understood she could mobilize her ability circuit and that he had weakened his bloodlust but it should still have affected her.... that is unless
"You chose a psychic ability?"
"Ding ding ding! correct" said celia as she giggled playfully. Zen seeing he couldn't force her to leave he decided to just continue ignoring her but she just wouldn't let up and kept trying to get him to react to her and as she kept doing this he suddenly snapped at her, although snapped wouldn't be the best way to put it as he didn't seem at all angry, but more annoyed than anything else and the coldness and lack of emotion in his words seemed to lace them with poison as they cut deep.
Celia, hearing him stood up and took the basket she brought before walking towards the door and speaking in a slightly hurt tone
"I.... I'll be back tomorrow..... Goodnight"
Then she left closing the door behind her. The moment she did a small satisfied smile appeared on her face.
