Crain carelessly sat along with Noah and Vereta as they introduced themselves to Cecelia.
Upon meeting Crain and the other two Cecelia's mood and tone took a slightly colder shift and her face turned a bit stoic, at that. But Crain's always outgoing attitude lightened the atmosphere around the four.
"This academy sure knows how to make a very welcoming yet competitive first day." Crain turned to look at me and Zenith and then looked back at Cecelia before he remarked.
"Yeah. I didn't expect them to hold such an event on the first day of the academy, and also put us first years against high year students." I said.
"They do this every year at the academy, apparently. One, they want to show the difference in power the higher year level students as well as to put the prideful first years in their place whilst showing students what they can become if they stay in the academy and put their minds to it." Cecelia said before continuing.
"That's also not including the academies' extremely competitive reputation." Cecelia added.
"That should be a given considering the fact that this is the most prestigious academy known for its raising of many heroes." Noah said.
Raising heroes. This academy.
Cecelia opened her mouth to say something but abruptly stopped as her face became cold and her eyes peered behind Crain and at the three kids caused the crowds of fighting students to clear out from around them as they made their way to us.
Their brightly colored red shirts they bore over their skin which highlighted that they're fifth years.
The three boy faces of the fifth years who were approaching us whilst they all had smiles as they conversed with each other.
Crain also noticed the fifth years approach and stood up, similarly Cecelia stood after and the rest of us did too.
Have they come for a fight?
"This spot seems to be nice, you mind if we just sit here with you all." the boy leading the two other fifth years said.
"Why don't you just find your own spot to hang out." Cecelia's wariness showed in her cold voice which slightly ushered away the three boys.
"I'd like to but sadly everyone's so hung up on fighting so there's no place I can go." the boy raised both his hands and said casually with no care for Cecelia's wariness.
"You can't just go to someone else" Cecelia said.
"There's no harm in letting them sit here for just a little." Crain commented against Cecelia.
"Then it's a done deal." the three boys moved closer towards us and then sat down.
"Really."Cecelia sat and whispered to herself.
Everyone then sat down but no one lowered their guard except for Crain who held a friendly smile on his face all the time.
"We might as well introduce ourselves. We are, obviously, fifth year students and are from the Holy Sanction, located leftward across the ocean, I'm Hampton Fullion." As the boy finished his statement I could see Noah's agitated body out the corner of my eye.
Hampton had short curly red hair which went halfway down his neck and brown eyes that looked at each and everyone of us until they stopped on me for a split second.
"I am one of the holy children who have a chance of becoming the next pope of the church or the next prism."He said.
The Pope is the most powerful position in the church as the Pope holds the most holy power, social power, political, and religious power but the Pope is second to the Prism who is the most powerful in terms of holy powers and everything else in general compared to the Pope.
But the Prism is the sword and spear of the church whilst the Pope is the heart and energy source of the church because without the Pope the system collapses.
All in all what I'm trying to say is that this guy could hold a lot of power in the future and already holds a lot of power -through his many connections he probably has.
-200 students remaining-
The blue watch binged once again and dragged almost everyone's attention down towards their wrist. Except a few.
The wind split and a whistling sound could be heard as a sword whooshed through the air at an incredible speed.
Hearing the whistling sound was near us everyone raised their heads to see the fifth year boy, Hampton, with his arms extended and the tip of his blade a mere foot from my face.
Hampton's blade glowed with eerily bright even though the sun was hitting it.
My eyes centralized on the tip of the blade which approached me insanely quick. Time felt like it had froze as everything slowed down and I glanced at everyone from the side of my eyes.
Crain had processed what was happening but was still yet to move with only his face showing any signs of reaction.
Vereta was one of the few people who hadn't looked down at her watch and been distracted but she was too slow especially since this was the speed of a fifth year student.
Noah was also the same as Crain was. Zenith laid in on me slightly with her eyes wide open as she too had recognized the incoming attack.
Cecelia though was nowhere to be found, it was as if she had never been here in the first place.
Time then once again felt like it speed up as the blade was now only half a foot away from my face.
Clang.
A loud clanging sound resounded in the clearing where we were at as Cecelia blocked the attack aimed directly at me with her great sword.
"A magically augmented sword. Were you planning to take her out forever?" Cecelia said as she looked at Hampton.
"Who wouldn't go after a walking cash bag. If I can get rid of an enemy of the church, especially one of this popularity, then I'd have no reason to worry about becoming the Pope or Prism, to hell with I could even be both." Hampton raised his voice the more the words spilled out his mouth.
"I wouldn't let that happen though." Cecelia said.
"Really, over some tiny friendship you just made today. If you help me get rid of her I'd become your eternal benefactor and that will only get better when I become the Prism." Hampton blabbered.
"I don't care." Cecelia calmly and cold said in a tone that sent chills down my spine even though it wasn't directed at me.
"Fight, Fight." The two slimes on Cecelia's shoulders yelled.
They were looking for a fight, indeed.
