"Impossible, how could this be?" Quake couldn't believe what he had just witnessed.
He knew his strength well enough: when he went all out, he could crush a small naval ship.
Yet, his attack was blocked by a single finger. How could he possibly believe this?
Cook and the other two instructors immediately recognized the Armament Haki that Byakuya had just demonstrated.
They understood the situation and how Byakuya had been using them.
Cook smiled wryly. "This kid is using us six hundred people as his training dummies."
"Youngsters today are getting crazier and crazier."
"We're getting old" The instructors found themselves reflecting on their own younger days. Quake was still a bit defiant.
He swung his left paw with all his might, the force of his massive paw creating a wind so strong it knocked down nearby soldiers.
Byakuya laughed, "Coming at me again? Now I won't go easy on you."
Before, Byakuya had let himself be hit to train in both Haki. Now that his goal had been achieved, he no longer needed to hold back.
Byakuya vanished from sight and appeared above Quake's head. "Big as you are, you may look intimidating, but you can't scare me."
Byakuya gave Quake's head a light tap. Quake instantly lost consciousness, falling out of his transformed state.
As Quake plummeted from the air, Byakuya was about to intervene when Fergus jumped up to catch him.
It seemed that the battle had mended whatever rift had existed between the two. There was no better way for men to bond than to fight side by side.
Byakuya thought to himself, "Look at that, I managed to do a good deed by accident."
Floating above them, Byakuya playfully raised an eyebrow at the group below.
"Cook, still want to continue?" Cook knew exactly what Byakuya was hinting at.
If they continued to fight, Byakuya might unleash his full strength. Cook sighed; he'd already gotten a few good punches in.
But he couldn't dwell on it too much. After all, the battle had only served Byakuya's growth in Haki.
They hadn't made a dent in him, and the whole situation had made them look foolish in front of the top brass of the navy.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Cook announced, "We give up. We surrender."
As their commander, Cook's decision naturally represents their opinion. Upon hearing this, Byakuya turned to Zephyr and shouted, "Teacher Zephyr, make the announcement!"
Zephyr paused, confused, "Announcement? They already surrendered, didn't they?"
Byakuya explained, "Announce that I'm the top performer in this month's training camp assessment!"
Byakuya had no choice; the system was rigid and only recognized the top performer in the assessment.
Even though his opponents had surrendered, Zephyr had to officially announce Byakuya as the top performer for the task to be completed.
Otherwise, even if Byakuya fought every person present, he wouldn't complete the task.
Of course, he couldn't take on everyone, especially the four observing from the grandstand—any one of them would be a major challenge.
Zephyr was taken aback. Byakuya had already made them surrender, so he was the top performer, right? Did he need to announce it explicitly?
Couldn't Byakuya be a bit more modest? Sengoku chuckled, "Hahaha, this kid values his reputation!"
Aokiji also shook his head with a smile, thinking that his junior seemed to care a lot about appearances.
Garp, on the other hand, appeared deep in thought, pondering something.
Zephyr then awkwardly announced, "Uhm... the top performer in this month's training camp assessment is Byakuya!"
The high-ranking officers around the grandstand saw Zephyr's awkward expression and burst into laughter.
Byakuya, however, was unfazed by this. As soon as Zephyr made the announcement, the system's voice rang out in his mind:
[Congratulations to the host for completing the task. You have been awarded 200 points of World Source.]
Alright, the plan is perfectly executed! Up on the grandstand, Garp looked serious as he asked Sengoku for another leave of absence.
Sengoku immediately became agitated, "You old rascal, you just got back from leave! Why are you asking for more time off?"
The situation at sea might seem calm, but in reality, it was turbulent.
Sengoku had just received news that the Beast Pirates, one of the Four Emperors' crews, had been interacting frequently with one of the Seven Warlords, "Heavenly Yaksha" Doflamingo.
Sengoku had planned to ask Garp to investigate the matter now that he was back. But to his surprise, Garp was already asking for more leave.
Garp watched Sengoku fuming and yelling but remained unfazed. After seeing Byakuya's performance, he felt particularly conflicted.
He decided to take his next leave of absence in the East Blue, vowing not to return until he had turned Luffy into a respectable Marine.
Sengoku saw Garp's unbothered expression as he made his request, and could only shake his head helplessly.
"You have a maximum of one month, and that's all the leave you have for the year," he said.
Garp was thrilled by Sengoku's permission and smiled, "One month is more than enough!"
If Shanks heard Garp's plan, he'd likely burst out laughing—changing Luffy's mind in just one month?
Sengoku pondered the available people at Marine Headquarters suitable for the task.
Aokiji was an excellent option, but he had just returned from a mission and might not be up for another, given his laid-back nature.
As for the remaining vice admirals, their presence was required at Marine Headquarters to maintain readiness.
Sending a rear admiral for such a task might lack the necessary authority to handle the situation effectively.
Doflamingo wasn't an easy opponent, and mishandling the situation could lead to conflict.
Sengoku considered who might have the right combination of skill, availability, and decisiveness to handle the task.
His gaze landed on Byakuya not far away.
Of course, there he was! Byakuya's strength rivaled that of a vice admiral and his current duties were limited to training at the camp.
Sengoku reviewed Byakuya's file and saw that Byakuya was known for his decisiveness and ruthless methods, which could be useful against pirates.
While Byakuya met Sengoku's requirements for a suitable leader for this mission, there was one challenge remaining:
How to request Byakuya's involvement from Zephyr, especially since the mission carried some risks.
After all, Byakuya was still a new recruit who had only been training for a month.
