Lyssana stared at Cian, who was peacefully sleeping. Under her eyes were some serious eye bags, a clear indication that she had not slept for the past two days.
"I never thought that little Cian would be such a crybaby," Furla said as he entered the room.
"Lucky you though, it seems like you're sleeping a lot these days. Cian has been crying at night and sleeping at times like now.." She muttered weakly.
"Then, why don't you sleep now? I will be here in case anything happens."
"I can't.. I need to go to the city to buy diapers and many other things.." She said, sinking her face into a pillow.
"But you made some diapers out of-"
"Magic isn't the solution to everything in this world Furla, I need to buy good quality diapers and other things such as a cradle, clothes too..."
Furla was still concerned about her health.
"We can do it tomorrow right? Or even later today, maybe in the evening before the stalls close.."
"No, one thing I know about baby care is that we need to change the diapers often to prevent diaper rashes.... And we don't know the science behind diaper making, so we can't just make our own.." She said as she tried to stand up. Her legs wobbled as she stood up, heading to the bathroom.
Furla stared at her as she went, then looked at the baby.
"She needs help, but I can't do it, I mean... I'm a wolf spirit.. Is there someone she trusts.... Ah!"
An idea suddenly struck Furla. Quietly creeping out of the house, he blitzed through the forest, heading towards the kingdom.
Mardan let out a deep sigh. She was at her shop, seated waiting for potential customers.
"People are still in mourning.. I have not earned a single cent! I swear if it isn't Lyssa..."
As she was thinking, she saw a shadow on the ground, originating from the display area. Thinking that it was a child, she came to make her first sale.
"Welcome little one! We have-"
She stared at the black wolf for a while, noticing it was indeed, not a child.
"Before you scream, I am Lyssana's familiar, and I have come for help."
She sighed and opened the door, letting Furla in.
"Are you sure I can trust you?"
"Yes, Mardan... I am Lyssa's familiar, she did tell you that she has one a while ago, didn't she?"
"Okay, you're right.. I trust you.. Just come out dear.." Mardan said. A man appeared from the shadows, clad in armor.
"It seems that you had already sensed me anyway," The man said, sheathing his sword.
"So, what help did you need? Are you lost?"
"No, not that.. Some few days ago, we found an abandoned baby near the outer walls of the kingdom.. She decided to take care of the child, instead of reporting the issue to the knights."
The two gasped.
"That's horrible! Why would someone abandon their child?!" The man asked.
"I see.. That's why she bought milk two days ago.." Mardan said.
"Yes.. Unfortunately, she doesn't know much about taking care of a baby, and she hasn't slept for two days now, so I'm concerned..."
"She keeps surprising me with each passing day.. She's quite mysterious, and even has a high class familiar with her.. She buys everything she wants through me at all times.. So I guess I will help her.." Mardan thought.
"Okay, I can help her out.. I assume she has not bought several things too right?"
"Yes."
"Okay, let's do this!" She said enthusiastically.

Back in Lyssana's house
Lyssana was snoring peacefully inside the bathtub. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around.
"Crap!" She cursed as she stood up.
"I fell asleep!!!! Crap!!!! I need to go!!" She said as she took her towel, covering herself. She ran to her room, wearing her clothes.
"Where the hell has Furla gone?"
As she asked herself that, she suddenly sensed three different signatures.
"One of the signatures is Furla.. What about the other two?"
Perceiving the situation as danger, she suddenly appeared next to Furla, a gigantic green sword appearing on her hand. This startled all the three of them.
"Wait.. Mardan???"
"Lyssa! You scared the hell out of us!" Mardan's husband said.
"Mr. Vondeer! You're also here?!"
Vondeer was holding his sword, though he was still shaking.
"Well, I came just in case we got attacked by monsters.. We never knew that you live this deep in the forest!" He said.
Lyssana stared at Furla, questioning him about what was going on.
"You are struggling a lot I heard.. Your familiar called me to help you out... He was just looking out for you." Mardan said.
"Wait.. You mean.."
"Yes! I'm here to help you out, with the baby."
Lyssana welcomed them into her house, going with Mardan to the room, leaving Furla and Vondeer together at the tiny living room.
"This Cottage looks quite old.. Its wood has blackened and the stony foundation seems ancient.." Vondeer remarked.
"Well, we found it here too, we don't know why it was here.." Furla replied.
"That barrier that we passed back then.. Even as a Templar B level adventurer, I couldn't sense it.. If we walked alone, we would have just passed through it, and we would never see anything.. Also, I have never seen such a familiar. It appeared as if the monsters were running away from us... Lyssa also gave us three grand coins... Back when she suddenly appeared, I can assume she was inside her house.. She sensed us from such a distance and instantly appeared in front of us.. Using a space-time skill... Her sword, the way my instincts screamed... Who the hell are these two?"
"Vondeer," Furla called out.
"Yes?"
"I can see you are a somewhat strong adventurer."
"Somewhat? Ouch.." He thought.
"Yes indeed, I am almost crossing to the Phantom A rank.." He replied.
"Indeed, I can see that.. I hope you can keep all of this a secret, we both just want to live a somewhat peaceful life, understood?"
"Yeah, I already know that much, I have spoken with Lyssana for a long time, and I know she has no hidden goal or something, so I will keep this a secret. But if I may ask, how does this barrier work?"
"This isn't exactly a barrier, but a dimensional rift. Basically, It cannot be sensed since we have separated this place completely from the outside world, but we can still experience rain, sunlight and darkness. If someone walks past it, they basically see it as an empty place, since they are in the normal earth dimension."
"The way you're talking so casually about such a feat... "
****
"And that's it." Mardan said after hushing the baby to sleep.
"I see.. So that's how I should change his diaper.."
"Yes and also... Clear all weapons from this room or anything dangerous.. Place them where the child can't reach them, especially after he starts crawling around.." She said, handing the baby Cian back to Lyssana.
"When I am free, I will teach you how to use magic to heal them, to check their attributes as they grow up, things like that.. I will give you a certain book that has such info."
"Thanks a lot, Mardan. You're a great help." Lyssana said.
"No problem, after all, you're my number one customer!" She said.
"By the way, have you registered yourself as the baby's mother? Little Cian needs to be registered so that he can also go to school when he grows, or even join the adventurer's Guild."
As Mardan asked that question, Lyssa stood up suddenly, placing the baby back on the bed.
"Lyssa?"
"Wait here a bit." She said as she disappeared.
****
"Well well, it seems you have quite the senses," Julius said as Lyssana appeared in front of him.
"I barely entered the forest.. Anyway, I am here to inform you that I have registered you together with Cian, that is all."
"I see, thank you. Now, if you'll excuse me." Lyssa said.
"Wait wait... I want to ask for a favor... I was hoping you would be willing to do some adventuring after some few years when baby Cian has grown a bit."
"Adventuring?"
"Well, you see, there are some high class monsters that are appearing everywhere every year.. If you could take care of those, You will have all the right to all of their parts, and I will personally compensate you with a thousand grand coins, plus I will tutor Cian for a while."
"Now that is pretty shady..." Lyssana said.
"I will keep your identity a secret. Plus, I merely want to see what you can do, after all.... You're not from around here, right?"
Lyssana sighed.
"I see." She said.
"I have not seen your details anywhere in all the files of the Kingdom after all... I had to make them for you. I do not know yet where you came from, and I won't pry anyway. I am just curious to see your strength and I also want to help little Cian."
"Okay then, we have an agreement." She said as the two shook hands.
"Yes we do. Three years from now...."

Time went by fast for Lyssana, as she watched little Cian grow, and now, she was preparing for Little Cian's third birthday.
