Dion's eyes snapped open and they glowed eerily red for a moment before they returned to normal. He took a sharp gasp and sat up. Like how he previously sat opposite Valka on the tree when he first saved her, she relaxed opposite him.
"You are really reckless," Valka said calmly.
Dion stared at the rising sun with absentminded eyes. "Yeah. Really rash there."
"You accepted it like that?" Valka blurted in shock.
"Why wouldn't I accept the blame?" Dion arched an eyebrow.
Valka tilted her head in confusion. "You gave me the disposition of a proud person, who never accepted they are ever wrong."
"That was how I was from the vague memories of my childhood." His eyes became unfocused again. "But many events washed my pride, leaving only self-pride with me."
