"Heart surgery!"
Arlo's voice echoed in the sterile hospital room, his words a reflection of the shock that gripped him after the doctor revealed that Remi required a life-saving heart operation.
The doctor, a man of science and precision, began to detail the medical intricacies of Remi's condition. However, Arlo found himself lost in a sea of medical jargon, only managing to latch onto a few critical points:
"Remi's lungs have been severely damaged due to smoke inhalation, causing burns to his respiratory tract. We have the resources to perform surgical procedures to remove the burned tissue and reconstruct the damaged airways.
However, the primary concern is his heart. The carbon monoxide (CO) he inhaled has significantly reduced the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity, leading to a decrease in oxygen delivery to tissues. This has resulted in the heart muscle being starved of oxygen.
