"I had assumed they buried the children after they succumbed to starvation and thirst, but the thought of them burying children alive and planting pine trees above them to absorb water is beyond comprehension,"
Arlo confessed to Inara, his voice choked with emotion. She had demanded an explanation for his attempt on the village chief's life.
Inara was at a loss for words. She had never encountered a situation where she had to comfort someone who empathized so deeply with others.
Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of a small, round coracle bobbing on the river.
"Look, a coracle! Grab it, we can use it to travel downstream," she exclaimed.
Arlo acted swiftly, pulling the coracle to the shore. However, upon realizing it was made from pine, he recoiled and pushed it back into the water. Inara opened her mouth to protest but quickly understood his aversion and remained silent.
