"Are you with Rachel's family now?" Dylan's voice crackled through the phone, bringing a familiar warmth to Harper's ears.
"Yes! How's your Christmas going?" Harper asked, her tone brightening with genuine interest.
"I'm still at Ilse's family home," Dylan replied, a hint of cheerfulness evident in her voice.
"Oh, the farm! Did you ask them if I can go there next summer? I'd love to help out!" Harper exclaimed, her excitement palpable.
"Yeah, they said you're more than welcome to come and visit. They'd love the extra hands," Dylan chuckled, clearly amused by her enthusiasm.
"Hey, kid! Merry Christmas! Where's your wife?" Ilse's voice rang out in the background, and Rachel's face instantly flushed a deep red at the mention.
