Chapter 91 - Are Those Memories Real?

"That was my most powerful defense... How could a Felidae win against it?! It even had the Blessing of the Goddess..." asked Yun as she fell onto her knees while clutching her wound.

"I possess the Curse of Hades so the ruler of the Underworld would overpower a Minor Goddess. Hell, I don't even think that spider is worthy of being called Goddess anymore..." commented Teemo as he ordered the Cerberus to return.

"Don't you dare sully her name with your mouth! She was my savior! She..."

"Is a heartless monster now. She's nothing more than that. You know it so stop lying to yourself. Plus, why are you so dependent on her anyway? You're not a child, you know. You've got a working set of limbs and wings, go put them to better use," instructed the Felidae as he turned away from the Tenguis.

"You're not going to finish me off?"

"Why? Do you want me to?" asked Teemo as he placed his blade on his shoulders.

"There's no point of living if Mother isn't here anymore..."

"Are you sure that's what you feel? Or are you lying to yourself? Come on now... You're her first handmaiden. I know I haven't sung songs of praise to Arakaali but she was considered to be a Goddess. And for you to be one of her closest ladies should say something."

Yun widened her eyes and shot up to look at the Felidae.

"You can't fool me, girl. I know about the case of the vanishing Tenguis and I know that you aren't a native to that Kingdom. You were a test subject that I had to study because you have a far better mind and physical endurance than the Tenguis."

"What?! What are you talking about?! That's rubbish!"

"Can you remember your childhood?"

Yun halted once more and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to recall her memories as a kid. She has them, right? Everyone does...

"You're drawing a blank, aren't you? Well, it was only after you yelled out that you were the one that had been experimented that I realized who you were and why I had to summon Cerberus against you."

"For future reference, I don't usually tap on to the Hades Skillset unless my opponent has the same strength as me. But that besides the point, what I'm trying to get at is your origin. You were born to be stabbed and to suffer."

The Tenguis cradled her head in her arms as memories began to rush into her head. At first, she had a family with a perfect home and a little tree in the backyard. Everyone was happy until the Royal Guard started collecting 'volunteers'...

She'd gone in, thinking that the pay would benefit her family but was betrayed. Yun then screamed as fresh tears rained down from her eyes. Painful flashbacks of when they used to drag her into a cell to pump her with every mutation on the planet.

It was torture and pain for years and when Arakaali found and rescued her, Yun found that her home had already been destroyed for years.

"Arakaali did indeed save you but because you were a monster at that time, she had no choice but to seal your true memories away. Now that she's gone, your limiter has been broken. You should be able to find out who you are..." said Teemo.

"No! I can... I can recall that I've got a family..." shouted Yun, in a desperate cry.

"Dig deeper into your memories again and try to see if they've got faces..."

The Tenguis gasped as she slowly realized that the Felidae was right... Why were the family members in her memories so hazy and blurry?

"You never had a family because you were never birthed by a being... You were created to be the holder of one of the Minor Gods of the Light Grid;' the Mother of the Stars. But that went wrong because how could they create an artificial body and expect it to work?"

"The only memories that you've got are the ones you've hallucinated and thought up during your confinement. The days that never were, all came from the books that you had been reading in your room."

"Trips through the woods and playing in a backyard with a large apple tree... Those particular memories were from my journal..." explained Teemo as slowly walked over to the poor girl.

"So you're saying... That I was never supposed to live a proper life here? Why would they create me, just to experiment on me..."

"Because you were never supposed to be sentient. I wasn't the one who experimented on you but I still studied you. After the Tenguis had vanished, I was called upon to the scene to help out. And when I got there, I realized things weren't normal."
