Chapter 88 - Helio's Twin Shot, Pull the Mighty Sun!

"But that doesn't excuse the fact that you've taken lives to the point of madness. It's not a give-or-take situation... It's not going to balance up the scales. I don't blame you for turning into a monster... I blame you for accepting your fate to become one!"

"Goddesses are supposed to be mentally strong or else they would fail to govern their believers. A Queen should be powerful for she could hear the hearts of those under her! And a Mother should love her children and nurture them!"

"Even if you've been wrongly cursed, it doesn't give you the right to claim the lives of the innocent. They aren't your punching bags and you should've known that! Now you're nothing more than a beast that should have been put down long before I was born!"

"The cycle of hatred has to end before any more souls get consumed... And it stops NOW!" yelled the Dragoon.

She then skillfully twirled her scythe around her body before striking the giantess's abdomen with a force powerful enough to cause the monster to scream in agony.

"Matt! Are you ready to fire off that spell?!" shouted Layla as she continued to push the abdomen down.

"Right on the mark, right on time!" replied the Loplin as flamed hoops appeared and surrounded the spider.

Matt's eyes flew open, his pupils burned brightly with flames and the gun started to shake.

"Helio's Twin Shot, Pull the Mighty Sun!" shouted the Loplin as he fired the shot.

The gun had several rings appeared in front of the barrel before the bullet flew out and towards Arakaali. Layla kept the monster down by digging into the wound while the Brine King increased the strength of his chains from the backlines.

The bullet quickly passed through the flamed hoops around the spider, morphing slowly into a holographic illusion of a golden chariot while also gaining more strength.

"I'm ending this, once and for all, Arakaali!" yelled both the Brine King and Layla as they pulled out their blade to strike the spider again.

The Mother of Web screeched her loudest as the chariot hurled into her face at lightning speeds, causing a massive explosion and then a flash of light engulfing the scene.

Layla abruptly woke up, finding herself in an empty realm of pure white. She rubbed her eyes and called for the Brine King but it was no use. She then got up and closed her eyes to then open them, and see if she could wake up from her state. The girl then jumped when she heard sniffling and crying.

"I never meant to hurt anyone... I didn't want to hurt anyone... I only wanted to fulfill my role and duties..." cried a voice within the nothingness.

The Dragoon quickly recognized that it was Arakaali and turned around, seeing the tall stature of a dark-skinned lady dressed elegantly in a purple and black evening gown with glitters at the skirt's hem. Holding back her luscious, curly black locks was a beautiful black crown with shining sapphires, which looked mesmerizing in Layla's eyes.

The poor lady covered her eyes as she continued to weep. The Dragoon then approached her and sighed.

"I'm very confident that you did and fulfilled your role as a Goddess. And it wasn't your fault that you looked like a monster or got cursed. However, you shouldn't have given in to the curse no matter what."

"I don't know what you've done to cause yourself to be cursed but regardless it doesn't excuse what you've done..." said Layla, trying to summon her scythe.

"Please believe me... I never meant to hurt anyone... I only wanted to save them... They never did anything wrong..." pleaded Arakaali, without looking at Layla.

"What have you done to deserve such heinous punishment?"

The place seemed to answer Layla's inquiry as it began to shift into another scenario. The Dragoon forced her wings before she could plummet into the ocean that appeared.

Cries and shouts could be heard as she witnessed little rubber boats rushing in a direction. Layla decided to investigate and follow the little rubber boats.

Watching what came afterward was devasting as a rather large, metal ship was laterally capsizing into the waters. A few beings were coming out from the small windows as the beings from the rubber boats from earlier tried to grab them out.

Upon closer inspection, the Dragoon realized that she was looking at humans. She flew in closer, noting that quite a few were still onboard the giant boat, but time was certainly not on their side.

The poor girl was confused as to why the humans wouldn't just get out. Once the ship was nearly into the water, the ocean had no mercy for their souls, drowning the boat quickly.
