Chapter 17 - Clash In The Cave

"Did you just say that you try to make your Elemental Energy as blue as possible? You're telling me you can change the color of it?" asked Teemo, rather slowly.

"Yes? I thought it was a normal thing to do. My twin has emerald green Elemental Energy and his waves are of the same color. But I do have to put in more effort to have bluer Elemental Energy compared to if I let it flow freely…"

"So normally, if without focus or added effort, what would your Elemental Energy look like?" asked Matt, getting closer to the confused Dragoon.

"This blue," replied Layla as she formed a little orb of water that floated on her opened palm.

Teemo blinked a few times at the floating turquoise orb and then at Matt, who had the same reaction as him.

"Hey cutie… I didn't catch your name earlier… Who are you?" asked Teemo as he leaned forward to whisper in Layla's ear.

The poor girl was like a deer in headlights as she felt the warm breath tickle her neck, almost as if Teemo was tempted to kiss her. Layla could stop her blush as she stammered to get her words out.

"I'm Layla…" was all that the poor flustered girl could muster up…

Wait, since when was she so shy? Matt was puzzled as to the Dragoon's reaction when it came to Teemo interacting with her.

"Sounds like a lovely name… But to continue with the earlier conversation, normally folks who can do Magecraft can't control their Element's colors. And there's a reason why," began Teemo as they continued forward.

"Each Element has different levels of potency, represented by colors. Same with Elemental Crystals, I can tell which are more powerful and worth the currency based on the color."

"For instance, Felidaes are of the Dark Element. The highest potent Dark Element that can be formed would be of pure black color while the lowest one would be Winsor violet."

"I will show you mine now since we have reached my basement," said Teemo as they reached another wooden door.

He opened it to reveal a large open space with a landscape of grayish-blue rocks, similar to a giant cave that had been hollowed out for training purposes. The area was large enough for a dragon to be in while standing on its hind legs.

The place was well-lit despite not having any flames, thanks to the rocks which had cracks of blue luminescent lights.

"If you have some of these rocks in the shop, I don't think you would have a problem with it being so dark anymore," suggested Layla as she walked into the large room with her eyes wide open.

"No, but then I would've got a new problem on my hands," said Teemo as he walked toward the center of the room.

"What would that be?"

"Bandits, thieves… People like that bunny boy over there," stated the Felidae as he drew out his sword to point at Mattheos.

Layla looked shocked as she backed away from the Loplin. It only took a single Tick for the bunny man's face to turn from neutral to pure anger and annoyance after Teemo spat out his sentence.

"What do you mean?" asked Layla, preparing to fight the Felidae.

"Oh? He hasn't told you? Well, I guess because you barely know him, right? Now then, lil' bun boy, time for you to drop the act and tell her who you truly are!" shouted Teemo as he vanished from his spot to lunge at Matt.

The Loplin was caught off guard so he'd barely had enough time to react or defend against the surprise attack. But to both the males' surprise, a certain Dragoon stepped between them in the nick of time.

As her scythe clashed with Teemo's blade, sparks of blue, black, and red spilled out. Matt widened his eyes at the sight, he had never seen Layla's scythe light up before so seeing it for the very first time was truly mesmerizing.

It looked almost holographic, fluctuating from azure to royal blue as it engulfed the scythe's blade. It reminded him so much of the seas, the ocean...

"What are you standing there for, floppy ears?! Get back so I can kick his a-"

Before Layla could finish, Teemo pushed forward, forcing the Dragoon to dig into the ground to not get pushed back.

"Damn it! At least he didn't lie when he said you were responsible for those deaths!" yelled Layla as she tried her best to fend against the Felidae.

"Oh? So the bun boy has told you a bit about me? I'm flattered, but sorry to say, knowing what I can do would be barely enough to defeat me!" shouted Teemo as he stepped forward.
