Christian had no words to counter Maya with, so he was left to agree with her.
After their phone conversation, Christian really did wait a while before phoning Diane. The latter was chatting with Maya when his call came on her phone.
The first time it did, she rejected it but almost immediately, he called back again.
"I think you should answer him. I will go ahead and confirm our booking for the cinema movie night," Maya said while getting off her bed.
The next second after she was gone, Diane swiped up to answer the incoming call. Placing the phone on her ear, she wrapped the other hand below her chest while waiting for the man at the end to speak.
"Heh, Diane!" Christian greeted.
Diane rolled her eyes even though he couldn't see it. "Don't you have any work to do today?"
