His wife has been gone for a long time, it felt good to feel this excited, especially given that she accepted to go out for a public gathering with him.
Normally, Christian shouldn't be this happy over something little, but because his antisocial wife who loved staying away from the media's prying eyes agreed to be his plus-one, he had every reason to be glad.
"Do you have something to wear, or do you want to get something new for tonight?" He asked, clearing off the table.
"I have some clothes I haven't worn before," Diane replied. "I will just go to the wardrobe to pick something nice."
As Diane was preparing for the party that evening, Christian filled her in on what it was all about, plus the identity of some of the guests that would be present.
"I can't believe Brian has to attend all the good parties now," she said proudly learning that her brother would be present.
The drive to the hotel was long and smooth.
