Sarah looked Celine in the eyes and said, "Keep dreaming! The evil you are thinking about will not happen."
"We shall see about that in due time," Celine claimed with a smug smile. "I don't want my daughter to stay married to any man below her class, so do you think I'm just going to sit here and do nothing?"
Sarah was stunned. This was her first time seeing a mother who wanted to singlehandedly destroy her daughter's marriage. Before she could speak, Celine had already bid her goodbye and left.
Sarah felt pity for Diane and wondered what she must have felt for her mother after what she put her through in her first marriage.
Diane didn't have to go through what she went through, but thanks to her mother who didn't know what love was and how to give it to others, she had to suffer.
It was too bad.

No matter how much Christian tried to comfort Diane on their way to see the doctor, she wouldn't sit still.
