In all honesty, Christian wished that Diane wouldn't ask that question because after how his day went, he didn't want to talk about it.
But how could he bear to lie to her now that she asked?
He knew she was only concerned about his affairs and doing her due diligence to keep up with him, but he could actually filter out the story.
As a man, he had his pride to keep.
"It was great. Robert was very surprised even though he didn't really show it. He will be there for our wedding."
Diane nodded in response. "Did you meet your friends then?" Ashley was not the only child that Robert had. There was Nick too.
She was interested to know their reaction.
In Christian's mind, he was already saluting her for knowing the right question to ask. He released a soft sigh and went on to throw in some hot pepper and other spices into the sauce as she stepped out from behind him so she could see every expression on his face.
