Diane was just thinking about how rude Ashley was even though she said she didn't mean to.
Why was it that she thought the other woman actually meant it?
Meeting her gaze, she replied, "Yes, I am. Is there a problem?" Her tone suggested that she didn't want to get any closer to her in case that was what Ashley had in mind.
"There is no problem at all. I was only curious as I heard the rumour about some months back but because I was very busy, I couldn't even confirm it" Ashley said with a smile.
Diane just nodded and went back to looking at the list on her phone. Unable to accept the fact that she was ignoring her, the smile on Ashley 's face faltered.
"I know how busy doctors can be, but how is your job at the hospital? Do you have trouble with the patients?"
