"My girlfriend is around," Christian offered.
Ashley arched a brow. "But I am a close friend." She still didn't see any reason as to why that was enough to keep her out of his penthouse.
"She loves privacy," Christian supplied with a small smile at the corner of his lips. Thinking that he owed no one any explanation, he decided to shift the conversation. "What brought you to this environment?"
"I was looking around at some properties," Ashley answered. "It wouldn't be bad to be your neighbour," she smiled as her gaze wandered around before coming to rest on his face.
Christian stared at her for a moment before casually asking, "I thought Robert would never any of you live away from home? Does he consent to this?"
"I am an adult who has rights to my own lifestyle. I can get my own apartment as long as I'm not absent from home more than three times a week. Besides, I am moving to LA soon to help out at the head office."
