Chapter 15 - Rewriting Reality (2)

I pinched my cheeks twice to make sure I was not dreaming. The blue window remained in front of my face, waiting for my response

After thinking for a few seconds, I chose the yes option

Immediately, the world around me turned black and white. Color vanished from the sky, the ruined house, Vin, etc.

Only the dark blue window in front of me and my own body retained their color. On closer inspection, I saw that time had also stopped.

Inhaling sharply, I picked up a stone from the ground and brought it to my shoulder-level height. I opened my hand and let the stone fall below.

However, the stone remained suspended in the air.

I was sure that if this were a scene from a novel, numerous readers would have dark thoughts inside my mind. Time stoppage is deadly.

< AS asks Michael to focus on the screen. Michael has limited time. >

Right, I didn't check the new content on the screen.

"This is…" reading through the window, my eyes widened.

Chapter 15: ???(Ongoing)

The contents of my novel were right in front of my eyes. I was too stunned to think or speak, especially after noticing the name of my novel along with the 'Edited Version' written ahead of it.

< Michael needs to click on the ongoing chapter and save himself. >

For some reason, the mechanical voice in my voice was a lot fainter and weaker as compared to before. It sounded as though the voice was straining a lot.

I pressed on the 'Ongoing chapter'. A new window appeared on top of the other one.

This window remained in front of my face for a few seconds before vanishing. In its place, a blank document emerged on the screen in front of me.

The blank document resembled the normal document I used for writing.

Following the words of the voice, I clicked on the blank document.

A blue holographic keyboard appeared in front of the document. It was a regular looking keyboard, minus the fact that it was holographic.

< Michael must place his hands on the keyboard and think about the changes he needs to make to save himself. >

This time, the voice was even fainter than before.

I wasted no time and placed both of my hands on the keyboard.

My author instincts kicked into place. Whenever I placed my hands on a keyboard, my brain automatically started thinking about the chapter and what I would write.

Words from my mind soon started appearing on the blank document.

|| The Entertainers realized that things were getting boring to stream. Violence had occurred in certain regions but not all streamers managed to show something important.

So to make things interesting, they allowed the humans to use their powers again three hours before the end of free days. Furthermore, the streaming services focused on the Entertainers with high view count by providing them with high-quality streaming.

It was quite smooth… ||

< That's enough! Remove hands! >

I blinked in surprise when I realized that I had started writing a full-length chapter. If not for the voice pulling me back, I would have written an entire chapter.

< Michael has to pay its price. AS hopes Michael is awake to defeat the enemies. >

"Huh, what kind of price?"

< AS is entering hibernation. Please click OK Michael. See you soon <3 >

Surprisingly, the last message appeared on a small blue window instead of echoing inside my head. This made me curious whether the voice had used all of its energy and could no longer talk inside my mind.

I glanced at the main blue window and took a deep breath. I was worried about the price mentioned for rewriting the novel.

But I had to do it to save myself.

Yes / No ]

I confirmed the edit by selecting the yes option. The screen vanished and in the blink of an eye, color returned to the world.

The world started to move again and the rock that was stuck in the air fell down with a thud. Vin was startled by it as she shifted her gaze to look at me.

"Why do you look so tired?" she asked in a concerned voice.

"I don't know…"

For the first time since the apocalypse started, I felt my magic power being used.

Whenever any person used a skill, their magic power was consumed and they could feel the magic power being used from their body.

It was as if each living being had a pool of magic power inside their body. Whenever any ability was activated, magic power would leave this pool and the user could feel that.

For some reason, I could not feel this pool inside me. Even though I felt extremely drained by the usage of magic power, I could not feel an empty pool.

My expression must have looked really tired because Vin looked concerned. I couldn't blame her. A pulsating headache developed at the back of my head and my entire body felt heavy.

I focused hard to keep my eyes wide open. Passing my head through my hair, I took a deep breath.

Vin was about to ask another question but she was stopped by the appearance of another window.

[ Magic Power can now be used. Enjoy! ]

So it worked.

Rewriting reality was possible for me.

'AS you there?'

I called out to the skill that allowed me to obtain the current skill of rewriting reality. That did feel like a weird sentence but weird was definitely a word you could use for things in the apocalypse.

Speaking of the apocalypse, only three hours remained for the arrival of the monsters.

With magic turned on, Vin could carry both of us to the city center fairly quickly. Avoiding the gang around us seemed fairly easy.

However, I was experiencing a semi-dizzy state.

For some reason, I could see rainbows every now and then. The light from the moon also seemed extremely bright, forcing me to close my eyes.

Maybe I had inhaled some magic mushrooms or maybe I was drunk due to writing too much.

It is a real thing, you know. The challenges and problems an author faces just to make his or her audience happy are quite sad.

"Vin, do you think you can carry both of us to the safe zone?"

"Yeah, I am sure I can. I didn't use any magic today so I am quite energetic."

After that, me and Vin used the same tactic we had used when we met at the start of the apocalypse.

As we rose up in the sky, I could hear a few shouts and gunshots. No gun managed to reach us as Vin made sure that the wind around us would deflect the incoming objects.

"Michael, cover us with your fire. I can't deflect all incoming objects without losing focus and making us crash." Vin informed.

I nodded and forced myself to focus, making the rainbows disappear. We were at least 70 meters above the ground, allowing me to get a wide view of any object that might come from below us.

Without any delay, Vin used her hands to make us move. With that, we started heading towards the safe zone.

In a room situated who knows where…

BangKok felt quite nervous. Earth was the second planet BangKok was streaming from. Though BangKok's streaming career was limited, he heard about the superior Entertainers and decided to make such a drastic decision.

Sure, mana had been blocked on many planets during the free days. Sometimes they would return the mana before the specified time limit to provide more entertainment.

However, the current orders were issued for the first time...

+

[ Attention all Entertainers! ]

[ The free days are ending two hours and forty-five minutes before the normal time. Please ensure you capture the best moments and stream them! ]

+

Such a screen was currently present in front of every Entertainer who was streaming from Earth, especially those streaming from the continent of Europe where numerous anomalies had appeared.

With a sigh, BangKok dismissed the screen and prepared to personally go down to Earth to continue the rest of the stream.

BangKok felt that many things would change soon. Something different would take place on Earth that would give birth to something no one had seen before.

It was as if someone had rewritten the reality BangKok knew…
