Glitch walked toward the outer area of Ckiukuji town. There was a 50-meter gap between the city wall and the first layers of houses in the outer region.
He looked around and saw these small guard posts built just next to the city walls, and many guards were patrolling this area. It was really quiet in this region.
As soon as he walked to the outer region, a barrage of noises hit his ears. The city was full of life, from constant carriage wheel noises to people talking among themselves.
Everywhere his eyes could see, people were running here and there in basic clothes. It differed completely from the slow life of the villagers he saw in the first village.
Even the houses here were all made up of small stones. As he moved around the other area, he understood the basic structure of the city. There were webs of wide roads spread throughout this region that connected the outer region with the middle region.
At the other edge of this region, there were multiple small alleys in between the big roads that connected to the rundown houses.
This edge area was a housing area, and it was super congested. Then the midsection of the outer region was full of different factories and stores where workers were coming in and out constantly.
Well, there was not much difference between the humans living in this region and the slaves outside the city. They were just collarless slaves working for the higher-ups.
As he moved deeper into the city, some big administrative structures replaced the run-down buildings. Especially the massive building of adventure guilds, mage towers, and stuff.
Just before the middle region, this area was full of schools that were affiliated with different organizations.
It was fascinating to see different schools. From warrior schools to magic schools, and even public domain schools that taught administrative stuff and many other buildings.
Most of the teens in the outer city joined one of these schools. Even though the city structure was medieval, in terms of social development, it was similar to a big city on Earth.
Beyond these buildings was a smaller wall that separated this chaotic other region from the middle region.
There were these central roads, each of them connected to the opening in the middle wall to the edge of the other city in a straight line. If he was not wrong, these routes were what those who lived in the deeper section took to get there.
One thing he noticed was that the guards on these walls were in green armor, different from the gray armor of the outer wall guards.
He did not walk in the middle section; instead, he continued to roam the outer region next to the middle wall.
The only thing, except the guilds, that interested him were these schools. He was expecting a few schools in this town, but the sheer number of them made his eyes pop.
What was more interesting was that all these schools were shining in different colors in his eyes.
Most of them shone in red to orange colors, while a couple of them even had yellow colors.
These schools were special to rulers, as he could join them to get subclasses.
Each of these shines represented the maximum potential of a subclass a school could offer him.
In Universal Online, the only thing that could create a difference between rulers' total stats was these subclasses.
Each of these subclasses provided extra stats to the rulers every time they progressed in their subclasses, while some of them could even give extra stats each time a ruler leveled up.
There were different potential grades of these subclasses, with red being the weakest, while violet was the most powerful subclass available on the planet.
A ruler could get these subclasses by joining the schools or via legacy portals that appeared around the planet.
For a ruler's strength, subclasses were most important, as not only would they provide the extra stats but also give the player powerful skills that they could use.
Like right now, he could only use blood-source-based skills, as his primary source of power was blood energy. The problem was that the planet Nex was magic-based, making it super hard for him to find blood skills on this planet.
This was the same for every ruler except those with magic as their primary source of power. Now, to balance this out, each ruler could learn subclasses and progress in them to get subclass-specialized skills.
There were seven potential grades for the subclasses in the game. Red subclasses were the lowest and most easily available on the planet. He could join any school and get a red-grade subclass within a few days.
These kinds of subclasses would give a minimal 1 stat increase at each level up in the start and around 5 levels worth of extra stats with every progression.
At every next stage of the subclass, rulers would get higher increments of stats. The red subclasses were weaker than others but were easier to reach at the higher stages.
What was more interesting was that, unlike species stat distribution, a player could decide the extra stat distribution depending on the subclass he chose.
This would allow rules to go for specialization in stats, which means focusing on increasing the higher stats more. In his case, he could do this by learning a subclass that provides extra stats in strength or agility.
Or going with balanced stat distributions, like if he learned a subclass that increased his vitality or dexterity.
Then there were orange and yellow mid-range subclasses. They gave around 2 stats each level up, while yellow gave more at the time of progression.
Even though the stats increase was good, the skills given would be kind of the same as in red subclasses.
Then there were Green and Blue higher subclasses, each with 3 bonus stats. These were very hard to learn and progress on. Some of them could even take months to learn, but the work was worth the reward. The skills given by these subclasses would be on par with the best skills a player could get on beginner planets.
A ruler could only get indigo and violet subclasses by finding the legacy portal subclasses and successfully challenging them. He knew little about these classes, as in his last life, the yellow subclass was the highest he could get.
Glitch noted all the yellow-glowing schools and the kinds of stuff they were teaching. Now, a yellow-glowing school did not mean it would give him a yellow subclass only. No, he could get anything from red to yellow at this school, depending on his performance.
Only the best performance would land him yellow subclasses in these schools, which were very hard to get. He just took out his second map and marked the yellow school location on it.
Right now, he has no intention of exploring much about them. He had already been in the game for over 12 hours. Not wanting to lose his sanity like last time, he walked to the small alley and logged out.
Logging out on the street would not restore his stamina and stuff, but he was too broke to book any room, so this was the best option for now.
