"Oh, but that wasn't the main reason I wanted to talk with you, Zemin. There are much more important matters to discuss."

"You mean your investigation, Master Mordechai?" Zemin guessed.

"Yes. I had my suspicions even before I came to Commander Mordechai's domain. There's certainly a spy somewhere here, someone who brings the demons vital information about positions of our armies. I hoped to conduct a more quiet investigation and not scare the spy so much that he or she would destroy the trails that will bring me to the spy's network."

Zemin listened intently, knowing that Makhos was explaining this all as an important lesson and a great show of trust. To be invited into the inner workings of an investigation would've normally been above the clearance level of an Esquire.
