Chapter 20 - In A Few Hours...

Barely stopping himself from questioning Khodri's intelligence, Alistar sighed and said. "I suggest we have breakfast since they won't be coming anytime soon."

"And why do you say so?" Khodri replied with a question, having clear signs of annoyance visible on his face.

Irritated by Khodri's idiotic question, Alistar stared at the annoyed look on his face and said to himself. 'Must be the type who hates those younger than him going against his decision.'

Not in the mood to deal with Khodri's stupidity, Alistar said with a tint of coldness in his voice. "You can wait all you want, I'm going to have breakfast."

Easily sensing Alistar's cold tone, Khodri looked at Alistar with narrowed eyes and said. "Boy just because I decided to treat you like my child doesn't mean I can't discipline you."

His tone was frigid and his attitude was serious a sharp contrast to the usual funny one he always had.

Unfazed, Alistar asked. "Are you coming to have breakfast with me or not?"

Seeing that Alistar had disregarded his warning, Khodri looked into Alistar's eyes before chuckling and asking. "Where does your courage come from?"

"I'll take that as you are planning to wait," Alistar said, turning around before walking away with his hands in his pockets.

He was unwilling to deal with Khodri after the latter just seemed to become more and more annoying the longer they stayed together.

Currently, his personality was vastly different from the one he revealed in the orphanage as this was the real him.

His real character was born from his wife's betrayal, his absolute loyalty in his past life, his encounter with The Honored One, and most of all his boss's disregard for his efforts.

All created this version of him. A version which he had been hiding behind a facade that always seemed happy and carefree.

"Alistar, get right here this instant! Alistar!"

Ignoring Khodri, Alistar's figure seamlessly blended into the crowd of people that littered the street.

"Alistar!" Khodri roared, livid at the thought of Alistar having the nerve to ignore him.

Unbothered that he looked akin to a madman, Khodri roared. "We'll meet again you foolish bastard!"

"Tsk." Khodri clicked his tongue in irritation after Alistar still paid him no heed.

Tired of making a fool of himself, Khodri walked into an alley not too far away from the building.

When Khodri had stepped foot in the alley, his eyes seemed to lose their luster as his face a former canvas of fury became somewhat petrified while having an air of absolute loyalty about him.

Still pressing deeper into the alley, Khodri walked —unbothered by the increased darkness and looks of those who occupied the alley.

This little amount of darkness posed no problem to Ascenders as enhanced vision was a gift given to all of them.

Deeper into the alley he went, Khodri was farther away from the main street that was bustling with both light and noise.

"Argh!"

Khodri groaned in pain after stopping in a place that looked devoid of a ray of light, even he who had enhanced vision was struggling to see in front of him.

A split second later, Khodri immediately stopped groaning as he stared at the space in front of him with blank eyes.

But hidden deep within his eyes, a trace of eternal reverence could be seen as he stared at the space in front of him that was slowly beginning to distort.

Thud!!

Just like a loyal servant, Khodri immediately dropped to his knees before planting his head firmly into the ground.

Ignoring the blood that stained where his head rested, Khodri said in a monotonous voice that seemed devoid of all emotions. "Welcome master."

As his voice traveled through the dark alley, the space that was getting distorted before him instantly froze.

Seemingly freezing time itself, an unparalleled beauty who could set Empires to ruin appeared before Khodri.

She had lavender-colored skin that glowed despite the darkness that consumed every light ray around them, long red hair that cascaded down her back like a bloody waterfall with its purple tips kissing her plump rare, perfect curves that were coupled with assets of ample proportions which could make even Bishops succumb to lust, and an oval-shaped face that held her thin brows, gem-like purple eyes, and plump red lips.

In short, she was a masterpiece crafted by her creator, one without any flaws, and the dream of all men.

Staring at Khodri's figure from the corner of her eye, a small charming smile spread across her lips as she said. "You did great Khody."

Her voice which sounded enticing like the chime of heavenly bells would force a reaction from all men even the most loyal. Hell, even straight girls would feel drawn to her due to her voice.

Coupled with the playful yet graceful tone that she spoke with, Khodri's blood surged through his body as his eyes became bloodshot and breaths ragged.

His little general wasn't spared as it had reached its maximum size from her voice alone, making a tent visible in his trousers.

But did he care about such a shameful appearance? Of course not, his mind had sunken far too deep in his lust to care for such trivial matters.

Now and forever more, he has marked himself as a puppet who would willingly dance to her tunes no matter what it was.

All this was due to him meeting Alistar. Alistar was the reason he was in this mess and Khodri wasn't regretting it in the slightest.

And even if Alistar knew, he couldn't care any less as it wasn't his fault that Khodri couldn't resist becoming a sex slave —something that was controlled by his lustful desires.

****

Far away from where Khodri was drooling akin to an animal, Alistar could be seen eating a slice of bread that had jam smeared on it.

This was all he could afford with the money he had managed to steal from Khodri.

"Things are too expensive here." He muttered, standing up from where he sat before making it to the meeting spot.

He had spent a whole hour walking about aimlessly all due to him getting lost and another thirty minutes to find the building where Liam had dropped them off.

And to avoid wasting more time and energy, he finished his breakfast while sitting not too far away from it.

Leaning on the building, Alistar ignored the slight ticklish sensation he felt and stared at a holographic clock that floated above everyone's heads.

The time was fifteen minutes to eight and based on his calculation of them taking the subway they should be here soon.

In a few seconds at best, four figures could be seen walking towards where Alistar was with a relieved expression on some of their faces.

Like a spell had been cast, a wide smile crept on Alistar's face as he said. "I'm so glad you made it."

The group was made of Sister Lilith, Theo, Hazel, and another boy whom Alistar had forgotten his name.

Exchanging greetings with them for a while, Alistar had his usual easygoing smile plastered on his face as he thought. 'In a few hours, I won't have to live with this facade.'

In a few hours, he'd be a student of Azurewind Academy. In a few hours, the fake friendliness and jovial side he usually displayed would be gone. In a few hours, he would be his real self. In a few hours, his ascension shall finally begin.
