Chapter 9 - Chapter-9

Both of them exited the Adventurer's guild...

"There is only one thing left to tell you, Mr. Lucian. You see these towers..." Sylvie spoke as she pointed towards the towers that were situated on the five corners of the Kingdom.

"Yeah..." Lucian replied.

"These are the class towers. Once you reach level 10. You can go into one of these towers and get your class.

But, Choose your class very carefully Mr. Lucian. Because the class you choose at start will be your one and only class until your death.

Some kids, take wrong class at the start and regret it for the rest of their life. So, please be aware when you pick your class.

The one with a axe on the top is Berserk, The one that has wings on it are the mage towers, the one with bow is Archer and the last one is Swordsmen.

Once you take the starting class, you can only upgrade it further but you can't change it." Sylvie spoke.

"You left that tower..." Lucian spoke as he pointed towards the sixth tower that had no sign on it's top.

"Yeah, that tower... Keep distance from that one. That tower trains dark mages, Although it's legal to be a dark mage now, You can't practice all Dark arts. Like, Necromancy, Mind Bewitching and Dark potion crafting.

If you were to be found involved in even a single murder case... They will declare you guilty and kill you instantly. The guild will kick you out and no one will talk to you.

So, I would suggest you to keep your distance from that tower." Sylvie spoke.

"I understand..."

'Dark Arts, huh ? Sounds Fun...' Lucian thought as he looked at the Dark mage tower with a smile.

"So, I will leave now. Since, I am on a quest. But, I will give you my best wishes and hope for you to get your lost memories back." Sylvie spoke as she left after that.

"Bye..." Lucian spoke with a smile.

"So, I have to get to Level 10 in order to choose my first class, huh ?" Lucian spoke as he went inside the Guild hall again and started walking towards the Quest Board.

Lucian started looking at the Quest Board and after searching for a bit, he found the perfect quest.

[Quest: Slime Cores]

[Rank: F]

[Description: Collect 15 Slime Cores and submit them to the Guild. You will get 10 copper/core.]

[Quest Type: Repeatable.]

'Why not make some money while I Level Up ?' Lucian thought with a smile as he took the paper off of the board and walked upto the Receptionist.

"Excuse me... I want to do this quest." Lucian spoke as he gave the paper to the receptionist Jill.

"Oh, The slime killing one huh ? But, Are you sure... You can do it ?" Jill asked with a serious expression.

"Yeah... Don't worry." Lucian spoke with a smile.

"Fine... But, What's the weapon you are going to use ?" Jill asked.

"Ummm... Can I buy a weapon ?" Lucian asked with an awkward smile.

"Fine... What kind of weapon do you want to buy ?" Jill asked.

"How about a Sword ?" Lucian spoke.

"Why are you asking me ? What class do you want to go for once you reach level 10 ?" Jill asked.

"A mage probably..." Lucian spoke.

"Obviously... Here." Jill spoke as she lifted a wooden box from below and placed it over her table.

*Click-Click*

She then opened the box and showed it to Lucian.

The box holded three small magic wands in it...

"What is this ?" Lucian asked.

"These are begginer's magic wands... These magic wands can allow you to perform basic magic with them until you reach level 10.

Once you reach level 10, these wands will stop working." Jill explained.

"Okay... What is the difference between these three ?" Lucian asked.

"This one is for fire spells, This one is for wind spells and This one is for water spells." Jill spoke as she pointed towards the wands one by one.

"What about water ?" Lucian asked with a Confused expression.

"Look, There are infinite affinities in this world... Nature, Gravity, Light, Dark, Shadow and many more.

But, Begginer's magic wands are made with these elements because they are the easiest basic elements that a newbie can control.

So, Which one do you want ?" Jill asked.

"What is the price ?" Lucian asked.

"10 coppers per wand..." Jill replied immediately.

'Wait... I have 12 coppers and If I gave away 10 to her, then I will not have any money to stay in the inn.

It's like a gamble... Will I get returns, if I invested my money on these wands or should I get a sword, because I know kendo ?

Urgghh... I can't understand this shit. My brain is getting fucked up.' Lucian thought as many questions Started rising in his head.

"Umm... Do you want any of them ?" Jill asked.

"Fine, Give me fire one." Lucian spoke as he gave 10 coppers to her.

'Water and Wind is useless against slimes... If I want to kill slimes, then it would only be possible with the help of this fire wand.' Lucian thought as he picked up the wand from the box.

As soon as he picked up the wand from the box, A message popped up in front of him.

[You've picked up the Begginer's 'Fire Wand'.]

[Two default spells have been detected inside the wand. Fireball and Fire Burst.]

Lucian immediately used his skill to look at the skill's description.

[Spell Name: Fireball]

[Level: 1(0/10)]

[Rank: F]

[Description: This rudimentary spell allows the caster to conjure a modest fireball, no larger than a grapefruit, which can be launched towards a target. Upon impact, the fireball erupts into a small burst of flames, more akin to a flickering candle than a raging inferno. As the caster's proficiency improves, so too does the potency of the resulting flames.]

[Mana: 10/use]

[Cooldown: 3 seconds.]

[Spell Name: Inferno Burst]

[Level: 1 (0/10)]

[Rank: F]

[Description: By invoking this spell, the caster unleashes a brief surge of flames, akin to a gust of wind stirring embers at a distant focal point. While lacking in size and intensity, the inferno burst is nonetheless capable of singeing nearby objects and igniting flammable materials. With practice, the caster may learn to control and amplify the inferno's meager strength.]

[Mana: 15/use]

[Cooldown: 6 seconds.]
