The drive continued, the rhythmic hum of the engine a steady background noise as the cityscape gradually gave way to more affluent surroundings. The houses they passed grew larger, more opulent, until they were driving through a neighborhood where the smallest house could easily swallow Ryan's entire school. He found himself staring out the window, taking in the sprawling estates with well-manicured lawns and tall, wrought-iron gates.
It was a part of the city he had never been to before - likely because he had no reason being there.
