"Alright, Ryan, Mason - pick your teams," the coach instructed.
Mason immediately chose his friends, the better players, while Ryan picked randomly, not particularly caring who was on his side.
The game kicked off, and it didn't take long for Mason's team to score the first goal. They celebrated obnoxiously, shoving it in Ryan's face. Ryan merely shrugged. "This isn't nearly as fun as I remember," he muttered, disappointed by how mundane it all felt.
The ball was then passed to Ryan at the centre for the kickoff. Without a word to his teammates, he took off straight toward the opposing goal.
"Ryan, you won't be able to score by yourself!" someone on his team called out, but Ryan ignored them. Mason and his friends laughed, confident that he wouldn't make it past their entire team alone.
