Ryan settled himself beside Jasmine on the ledge of the school roof, turning to face the girl who, despite being his age, seemed so much smaller and more delicate. Her striking blue eyes immediately caught his attention, contrasting sharply with her jet-black hair and pale skin. Her appearance was unique but wasn't exactly unpleasant.
"Your eyes," Ryan said with a teasing smile. "They're really something. Such a deep blue - like the sky just before nightfall."
Jasmine's cheeks flushed slightly, and she glanced away, her expression a mix of flustered annoyance. "They're just eyes," she muttered, trying to brush off the compliment as if it were nothing.
Ryan chuckled, leaning in a little closer. "Are you sure they aren't contacts?"
Her reaction was immediate - she turned back to him with a glare, her voice tinged with irritation. "Of course, they aren't! Why would I wear contacts?"
