Chapter 4 - Volume 1. Chapter 4. Anxiety

Cindy calmed Una who was crying regretting something, she hugged Una. Because hearing Una's muttering was so scared.

Thirty minutes later.

"No wonder Rabbithed isn't here," Cini concluded her thoughts.

"That does make sense, but. There's something strange about this monster," Vail continued Rii's words.

"If that's true then who—"

"Guys." Cindy approached them with Una still holding Cindy's hand.

"I'm sorry for making you guys panic." Cindy is very sorry for her actions.

"There's no need to think about it, we didn't take everything into account in the first place." Rii didn't mind this.

"Cindy, Una. Can you go back to town? Then, take this to show the guild." Rii gives Cindy the fang of the animal they defeated.

"Then I will take you," Cini offered to take Cindy and Una to Norf town.

"Try not to let anyone see," Rii reminded Cini to be careful, so that no one saw it.

"Of course, I will be careful."

"Come on, Cindy, Una."

"Guys, see you back in town."

Cini, Cindy, and Una just disappeared in front of Rii and Vail.

"Cini, thank you for taking us."

"You're welcome."

"Come on Cindy."

Una took Cindy into the city. Cindy, who looked back, didn't see Cini.

When Cini returned, he saw Rii and Vail discussing something.

"Did you guys find anything?" Cini walked over to the two of them.

"You'd better see with your eyes."

When Cini approached, he saw that the animal they had defeated was already undergoing the process of decomposition.

They burned all the carcasses of the monsters they defeated, because they were starting to smell a strong smell.

After clearing all the carcasses, return to town by teleporting.

"When we burned the animal carcass, did you two feel any presence? Rii, Vail." Cini wants to be sure.

"I did feel it, it could have been a herd of animals or monsters that we defeated," Rii concluded all the possibilities.

"Come on guys, I think Cindy is waiting for us."

When they entered the city, how confused they were. Found all the residents who seemed to be contemplating and praying full of hope.

The sound of the doorbell ringing...

"Why are there so many adventurers in the guild?" Rii was confused by the unusual circumstances.

"Rii, Vail, Cini," Elia called them so anxious about something.

"Elia what—"

Before Cini had time to say a word, the sound of the city bell rang. And someone's voice was heard so loud that everyone in the house heard it.

"MESSAGE! MESSAGE!"

"LISTEN TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF NORF!"

"THE BATTLE ON THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE HAS BEEN WON BY THE HEROES!"

After one of the soldiers said so in a loud and loud voice, everyone cheered happily.

Late at night, Una came to their room.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Una..." Rii opened the door, looking at Una as if thinking about something.

"There's something I want to tell you."

"Is that related to heroes?"

Una nodded her head, confirming Rii's words. Rii allowed her to enter.

"Then, is there anything important you want to tell me?" Cini was very curious about what made Una come to them at night.

"First, I will discuss the matter of having summoned a hero this time. Because it has something to do with future problems."

"Okay, we will listen. Please tell us."

After Cini asked to be told, Una said what she was thinking and worried about.

"After listening to the message from one of the city soldiers, I was so sure. Our defense has begun to decline, and we are lucky if another hero has been summoned."

"But here's the problem." Una was so scared and worried, but she had to tell the three of them.

"Because I didn't come back, it's certain that the union thinks we failed to summon a hero."

"Una, if I may know. Is there a time lag for summoning heroes?" Rii realized the problem that made Una look different from usual.

"The first summons took six hundred years, but this may be a coincidence."

"A coincidence?" Vail became increasingly curious about Una's words.

"Hmm...You should only be able to summon one hero, but after you told me three of you were summoned."

"That makes me very happy, because we seem to have high hopes of turning things around."

"So, you're saying the union can't summon a third time?" Rii deduced the possibility from what he had already realized.

"After you have been summoned, at least the same distance is required. Unless you sacrifice something."

"Does that mean this summoned hero didn't come correctly? Or what did they sacrifice to perform the summoning a second time?" Vail became curious about Una's words.

"Yes, what you said is the truth," Una confirmed Vail's words.

Una wanted to continue what she was saying but was stopped by Rii. He asked Una to return to her room and leave this matter to the three of them.

"Sorry for holding up your rest time, good night." Una left the three of them and headed to her room.

After Una entered her room, Vail put on a barrier to make Una comfortable and eliminate her worries.

"I didn't expect it to be this big of a problem." Rii felt guilty.

"Everything has happened, Rii. There's no need to regret it." Cini told Rii not to think about it.

"What Nia thinks and worries about is part of our problem." Vail reminded them of the proposal that had previously been made.

"So, the problem here is the hero, huh?"

"That's right, whether hero can cooperate or not," Rii confirmed Cini's words.

Vail proposes to see the condition of the city of Tars where the hero is. Agreeing to Vail's proposal, they exited through the bedroom window.

"Hah? Why are you there, it's already late." The soldier asked Cini, Rii, and Vail to return to the inn.

"But sir, we just want to know the location to avoid that city." Cini tries to trick the soldier.

"I'll tell you, after that go back to the inn where you're staying, understand!"

"Understood, sir,"

"That city is south of this city, it takes three days to get there. And remember, never try to go there. Only S-rank adventurers are allowed." The soldier informed and warned them.

"Now go back before I catch you guys."

"Thank you, sir." The three of them immediately left the soldier.

After feeling far enough away from the soldier, the three of them headed toward the city using flying magic.

They arrived at the city of Tars when the sun was starting to rise.

"What a mess, is this the power of the hero and demon king army?" Rii looked around the destroyed city.

"Where is the hero?"

"I also didn't feel the existence of that hero."

The three of them continued to search the city and did not find any heroes in the city.

"Excuse me, uncle."

"Small child? Why is it here?" The person was so surprised.

"What are you doing in this dangerous place? Where is your mom."

"Uncle, where is the hero who saved us? I want to thank him."

"I see, if you're looking for the hero and his group, they're gone."

"Already not available?" The little boy was so curious.

"If I may know, where did they go?"

"Uncle doesn't know either, but they are heading north."

"Thank you, uncle, I will repay your kindness."

Cini and Vail saw Rii come back and told him what the soldier had said.

"Heading north? Could it be Norf city?" Cini concluded from the direction they came.

"But why didn't we see the hero and his party when flying towards this place?"

"I don't know, I don't know about that myself."

The three of them decided to return to Norf City before Una got angry with the three of them.

The sound of the doorbell was heard.

"Morning Eli."

"Morning you two." Elia saw Cindy and Una heading towards the reception desk.

"Where the others?"

"I don't know myself, they haven't been in the room since morning," Una told Elia.

"Do you have any requests for the two of us?" Una asked for a recommendation for a hassle-free request.

"I'll check on today's request list." Elia left the reception desk to retrieve the latest request list.

When she returned, Elia gave a request as a bodyguard for the merchant to the village of Souh.

"How? Are you interested…"

"Escorting the merchant's journey, yes, the distance from here to South Village takes one day and one night." Una thought for a moment about the offer that Elia made.

"No need to worry, I'll tell them later."

"What about you, Cindy?" Una asked Cindy's opinion to decide.

"I don't think it will be a problem."

Hearing that Cindy didn't mind made her decide to accept Elia's request.

Knock. Knock.

"Cindy, Una? Are you in there?"

"Mr. Vail, mr. Rii, mr. Cini." Ren approached them.

"Ren, have you seen those two?" Cini asks Ren to tell him.

"They both went out this morning, probably heading to the guild," Ren told the three of them.

"Thank you, Ren."

The three of them immediately rushed towards the guild.

The sound of doorbell sounded, and Elia saw Rii, Cini, and Vail entering and coming toward her.

"Elia, are those two coming here?" Rii asks Elia to tell him.

"Cindy and Una came this morning, currently they are carrying out a request to become bodyguards for merchants from the Karta kingdom."

Elia came to them with drinks.

"Where is it going?" Cini wants to know where they are going.

"They only accompanied us until Souh village." Elia placed drinks for the three of them.

"Thank you, Eli."

"Hey…"

The three of them immediately left without touching the drinks that Elia had brought.

"If they go there, the chances of running into a hero are very small."

"What does that have to do with them, Rii?" Vail is curious about the hero's connection to Cindy and Una.

"Did you forget? If the hero is heading north, that means the hero will pass through that village." Rii gave his conclusion.

"Should we follow them?" Cini made a suggestion.

"I agree, Cindy isn't that skilled in swordsmanship yet." Rii accepted Cini's proposal.

"Then, invisible magic and gravity manipulation magic are the best choices."

Rii and Cini also agreed with Vail's words. They immediately used both magic and started looking for Cindy and Una.

Cini realized that Vail was so small, Vail said that this was done solely to adapt to the environment. In other words, trick Una.

"Where are they?" Rii was looking in all directions below him.

"There they are..." Cini informed and pointed at them at nine o'clock.
