Chapter 1: Transmigration! Have I Become Kaido? And Luffy Is Coming?

Sea Circle Calendar, year 1522.

The seas are changing; the Marines have established a stronger presence in the New World since their recruitment efforts increased.

Blackbeard, one of the emerging Four Emperors, has taken over Hachinosu, actively hunting those with abilities and expanding his domain quickly.

Pirates who escaped from the underwater prison two years ago have earned infamy as evildoers.

On the Red Line, the World Government is busily preparing for the quadrennial World Summit.

Big Mom, another of the Four Emperors, and North Blue's Germa 66 are showing interest in an alliance through marriage, discussing the nitty-gritty of the bargaining for mutual benefits.

...

In the New World, Wano Country's capital, Onigashima:

"Snap!"

The shattered bowl lay on the floor; its pieces scattered as the remaining liquid stained the entire room.

General Kurozumi Orochi picked up another bowl and guzzled its contents, oblivious to the sake dripping from the corners of his mouth, dampening his shirt.

Closing his eyes, he contorted his face with ugliness, and several disturbing thoughts and images flashed through his mind.

Damn it!

What are his underlings doing? Why have they not found the bodies of the remaining Nine Red Scabbards for twenty years!

Only Kawamatsu the Kappa, imprisoned in Udon Prison, and Ashura Doji, now known as Shutenmaru, leader of the Mt. Atama Thieves, have surfaced,

But what of the rest?

Old man Sukiyaki Kozuki's whereabouts are unknown,

And the two heirs of Oden are missing!

Idiots!

You must prove to me that they are all dead!"

With a violent slam of his wine bowl on the table, he shivered slightly, his eyes revealing a trace of fear.

He pulled his arms around himself, gazing emptily ahead as though trapped in a memory, and turned to Kaido beside him: "Hey, Kaido, that woman's prophecy, it can't be true, right?"

The woman he referred to was Toki, Oden Kozuki's wife from a distant land, who bore him a son and daughter.

After they had "eradicated" the Kozuki clan, Toki prophesied that in twenty years, the dawn would come to Wano Country.

Initially, he dismissed such prophecies,

But the disappearance of the Red Scabbards and the Kozuki survivors unnerved him.

Now, on the twentieth year, the anniversary of Kozuki's execution was mere days away.

The time prophesied was near.

Fortunately, he had Kaido on his side, the man known as the strongest creature alive, both in Wano and abroad.

By his side sat Kaido, seemingly staring into his sake jug, appearing lost in thought.

Upon closer examination,

His face was fierce like a demon's, horns atop his head reaching for the sky, long, loose black hair falling behind him, and a sculpted, muscular upper body. A pitch-black kanabo stood against the wall next to him, his aura exuding a boundless power that seemed unstoppable.

Unknown to all, at this moment, Kaido's consciousness and soul had been supplanted.

Memories flooded and coalesced within his mind.

His confusion slowly abated.

He had been reading the One Piece manga on Earth, ranting on forums about the chapters set in Wano, complaining about the preposterous Oden in earlier scenes, and the implausible successes that followed.

Kaido felt the Kozuki clan were reduced to insignificance, and the Nine Red Scabbards seemed invincible.

Despite Kaido's character being well-crafted, it all fell apart when his daughter was influenced by Oden's beliefs.

The entire arc weakened the Beasts Pirates to elevate the protagonist group, taking the plot to unrealistic heights.

He couldn't help but side with Teacher Caesar until he saw a post on the forum which prompted him to ask, "If you became Kaido, what would you do?"

Was this even a question that needed asking?

He immediately slapped the table, picked up the keyboard, and let his fingers fly across it.

"Of course, I'd first kill Kozuki, then slash Luffy with a huge force and my own powerful combat abilities."

After writing thousands of words, he clicked on the comment area to enjoy the feedback from readers, anticipating a plentiful harvest of compliments.

However, the sense of immersion was so intense while writing that he became overly excited, his brain gave a twitch, and he blurted out, "And then... I really became Kaido..."

At that moment, Kaido was fully awake, his mind filled with memories that truly belonged to him.

It was the year 1522, almost two years after the Summit War.

He counted the days. It had been more than a month since Kiku Zhicheng, one of the nine Red Scabbards, and Luffy had met after their time travel.

And Luffy would be setting sail for Wano Country in about a month or two.

In other words, their paths were not far from crossing in their current lives.

In just a few days, it would be the anniversary of Kozuki's death, the day the five of them had traveled back to Kinemon's Gate.

So...

Luffy would probably set out to sea in a week or two!

Time was running out!

He could not just sit still and wait for Luffy to reach Wano Country and confront him.

The son of destiny, blessed with luck and the strongest backing on the sea, Luffy's luck, aura, and even talent were frighteningly real to him. He could not be given the time to grow; he needed to be stifled while still weak.

It would be best to wait until the protagonist's group was fully assembled,

Then strike decisively, cutting the grass and pulling out the roots!

Then a notification sounded:

"Ding"

"Host target detected"

"System loading"

"Loaded"

"Destination list (viewable)"

A system? All crossers come with benefits.

Kaido's heart skipped a beat as he meditated, "View list."

A list materialized before him:

[Kaido's Target List]

One: Master Wano Country

Difficulty: One star

Goal: Become a general of Wano Country and reduce the rebel percentage to less than 5% (Current rebel count: 31%)

Reward: Strength Module Pack

Two: Resist the Mandate of Heaven!

Difficulty: Three stars

Objective: Kill the Straw Hat Crew

Reward: Strength Module Pack (Large)

Three: King of the World

Difficulty: Five stars

Objective: Defeat the World Government and reforge the world order

Reward: Item Module Pack (God)

Four…"

And so on, listing several objectives. There was an uncanny sense of familiarity as he looked through the contents, reminiscent of the plan he had written for Kaido on the forum.

Exiting the list, Kaido took a closer look at the system. After a while, he had an overview.

The system issued tasks based on his plan, aiming to help him accomplish his goals more quickly and potently. The rewards were categorized into three modules: Strength, Assistance, and Items, meant to enhance Kaido's own combat power, auxiliary capabilities, and offer a variety of items.

The numbers in parentheses indicated the reward level; the higher the difficulty, the richer the reward.

With this realization, Kaido closed the system interface.

A voice grew louder in his ear:

"Kaido?"

"Kaido!"

Annoyed by the interruption, Kaido frowned and turned his head to see a rather inelegant face.

"Why didn't you answer me?"
